Could you have it at someone’s house and do a family style meal?

We are having a cookout as our Rehearsal Dinner at my FHs family lake house and we will be dong boating and swimming afterwards to make it a fun day!

I agree that if you could do it at someone's home, that it will save you tons of money and put less stress on you as the bride! I know how much stress it took off of me when we decided to do the cookout instead of some big dinner or fitting 30+ people in an already crowded restaurant!

    Good Luck!

I also want a simple inexpensive rehersal so we hope to use the backyard of someones house, use the decor like garland from the wedding and invite about 30. Renting table and chairs with catered chinese food from a resturaunt we will pickup (because they dont cater) and put in our own catering dishes. Using the string lights from christmas too

My incredible wedding party is helping us setup during rehearsal time. We're doing pizza wings and beer. That's just our style though. We'll have enough formality the next day. Lol

We're doing a pasta bar with bread and salad! One of our family friends used to have her own catering business and is cooking our rehearsal dinner as her wedding present to us. Even if she wasn't helping, pasta is always an easy option.

We found a local bar/restaurant with a back room for private parties and the owner is pretty much only charging us for the pizza and wings and the cost of cleaning the tablecloths. If you look around you might be able to find something similar

Pizza (or burgers, spaghetti & salad, etc.) & Beer at someone's house. Easy peasy, and a heck of a lot cheaper than going to a restaurant.

Pizza, pasta, tacos are all easy and cheap options! Host at someone's house or at a local park if the weather permits.

I'd definitely say have a potluck bbq or something along the lines of it. Smiley smile If you do go to a restaurant, have everyone pay for their own food. It's more common than not actually. It's just like going to a family dinner after graduation or something. My bff did that for hers.

So my original idea was to have the rehearsal dinner at our house for just pizza, pasta, salad something simple but the more I think about it the more it freaks me out that it'll make me anxious the night before the wedding. I often feel like I can't relax in my own home with a bunch of people over that I "have to host". I know this wouldn't be true and that FMIL and mom will do everything, it's just my personal space to me. Idk I am really weird about this stuff lol I am such a homebody. So I am thinking about affordable alternatives at a restaurant that wouldn't be too pricey.

We’re renting one of the small ballroom/conference rooms in one our hotel blocks. It’s $200 to rent but is indoors, comes with tables and chairs, and we can bring in whatever we want (will likely be pizza and salad). Not a glamorous rehearsal dinner but we have a large bridal party and I’d rather the budget go to the wedding
