Rehearsal Dinner Distance??

I think 30-minutes should be the maximum. An hour is a really long drive after dinner (and drinks?). I would try to find something closer. Especially for anyone travelling it forces them to rent a car where they may not have.

An hour away seems a little too far. 20-30 minutes would probably be the furthest I'd recommend. If you're really wanting to host the dinner at that particular restaurant, is it possible to do your rehearsal at a park or somewhere else near the restaurant (rather than at the venue)?

I think that’s way too far. I’d try to keep it within 30 minutes. People are free to stay where they like but if no hotels are convenient to both rehearsal dinner and wedding venue, I’d either look for other accommodation options or other rehearsal dinner possibilities.

I think an hour is too far. Ours was 25 minutes away and I felt like it was pushing it.

30 minutes in traffic is the maximum distance from the ceremony venue where the rehearsal takes place. The hotel location is irrelevant because many people won’t be staying at the same hotel/motel, and others will be local staying in their own homes.

Best to hold it as close to the venue as possible, especially for those who aren’t staying at the venue! Consider their drive time to the venue, then to your rehearsal dinner, then back to their homes. To be considerate, I’d keep it within 30 minutes with 10-20 being the most courteous.
