Registry for those living together.

Lydia, on May 25, 2022 at 8:24 PM Posted in Registry 0 14

My fiancé and I already live together, what are other couples who live together already doing for their registry?

We did a regular registry at bed bath and beyond and. Amazon. For the things we don’t have and decided on extra sets of things that will help us in the long run, like shower curtain linens so we can change for the holidays, new bedding that wasn’t hot for the summer and little things we didn’t own, such as an ice cream scooper and a new vacuum. And cleaning products. It sounds kinda cheesy but it did end up saving us money including gift cards.

I was in the same boat, so we mainly added upgrades to our current kitchen stuff. Nicer pots and pans, flatware, upgraded appliances, etc.

We registered for kitchen items that we either didn’t have or needed to replace/upgrade. We also included in our registry the option for gift cards to Lowes/Amazon/Bed Bath & Beyond as well as a honeymoon fund.

We are doing a honeymoon fund and did our registry on amazon and asked for fun stuff we want but cant afford right now (like a bigger tent for our camoing trips) as well as items we have been talking about replacing in the future (like a new set of pots and pans to replace our mix and match set we have now).

We’ve lived together for almost 2 years and there’s still stuff we’re always needing. We did target, bed bath & beyond, and Amazon. We put a lot of big stuff that we don’t have like a nice vacuum, standing mixer, small outdoor grill, etc. and then also upgrades on things we already have. Most of our stuff we currently have was either passed down from family or cheap stuff I bought for my apartments in college, so we figured it’s a good time to get new plates, silverware, sheets, towels, etc. we also put some fun things on there like games, a dog watch camera, and even a dog DNA kit.

We did a few things we didn't NEED but wanted (like certain kitchen appliances) stuff for the bar we're building in our basement, etc. We did things to upgrade, like bedding, sheets, towels etc. Then we did a few things for fun like we enjoy games so I included some board games we've been wanting, yard games. We also have a lot of home improvement projects we're working on, so I included things for those (storage/organization containers for bathroom we're renovating), picture frames, pillows, blankets, for the basement living room we're renovating, shelves and tool hooks for the garage, and other things like that.

We did a Bed Bath & Beyond registry. It had a few appliances we really needed upgrades for (air fryer to replace old toaster over, etc.), new bath towels, new sheets, wall mount for our TV, shoe rack for our front door, and assorted kitchen implements we were missing (bowls, measuring cups, etc.). If you don't have a good vacuum cleaner then put that on the list!

Like lots of other people, we're upgrading/replacing old stuff, and buying things we'd never buy for ourselves. Like, having an electric kettle would be cool, but I wouldn't spend the money for one, especially now that we're saving for the wedding.

We did a honeymoon fund because I'm not getting any shower or anything. I remember when I first asked about this, it offended so many people on here for some reason, but then I always hear how people bring cash to the wedding instead of gifts anyway 🙈 so I don't see the difference. For us, we value travel and experience much mych more than unnecessary upgrades on things we already own (7 years together), so the honeymoon fund is the only thing that makes sense! 😊

We did a Honeymoon fund and then added our Amazon registry. We put unusual things on it like stuff for our dog, games, a new XBox, etc. While most guests contributed to the Honeymoon fund or gave cash, we did get almost everything on our list (which we purposely kept small). So definitely think outside the box - doesn’t have to be traditional stuff!

We put a bunch of upgrades on ours since most of our things were cheap items we got for either of our first apartments. We also did a few fun items like a camera to check on our dogs during the day, personalized his and hers stuff from Etsy, etc.
