Reevaluating Bridal Party

Katie, on September 9, 2020 at 2:19 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3
Hi all! I had to postpone my wedding due to COVID... I’m now getting married 7.17.21 in Costa Rica. Before I decided to postpone, I had a bridesmaid and my maid of honor cancel on me. Now that we have postponed, I’m thinking about asking one of my other bridesmaids to be maid of honor, and asking another friend to be a bridesmaid. However, I don’t want to offend anyone or make them feel like they were “second picks”. What would you do?

I'm sorry that the ladies canceled on you but I feel making someone else Made of Honor when they originally were not would make them feel like a second option. Maid of honor honestly it's a title. I'm not think it's an important title but there are times that as a bridesmaid I may be put in a little bit more effort than the maid of honor. I would just take you through as bridesmaids and don't have a maid of honor.

Probably best to just ask both to be bridesmaids and not MOH as she may feel like a second choice
