Reception exit

Andrea, on December 4, 2023 at 3:37 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 2
I’m trying to decide if and what to do for our exit. I don’t want stuff thrown at me, especially that just has to be cleaned up later. All I can think of right now are bubbles, which I’m not overly enthused about. I would’ve done glow sticks, but we’re having an afternoon wedding so it won’t be that dark when we leave. Any other thoughts? Is exit stuff even done anymore?

I’ve personally never even been to a wedding with a grand exit. At every wedding I’ve attended, including my own, the couple is the last to leave. Are you intending to leave your wedding before your guests? If not, I’d just skip it. Some people do staged exits (from what I’ve seen on Wedding Wire but also never in person) and guests sometimes think that signals it’s time to leave and start heading out.

In my area, the couple leaves, that’s the signal for the guests to start leaving, and the bridal party and/or family make sure everything is finished and out before leaving. If we don’t leave, grand exit or not, people will stay. 🙂
