Real or Fake Florals, diy or Etsy

Hi brides, I am trying to decide how to go about the wedding flowers. Beautiful flowers are a priority for me, but I have seen fake flowers look just as good as the real deal. I need 13 table centerpieces which will be bud vase and large centerpieces mixed and then 1 bouquet. I will also be buying fake greenery to hang and draped in different areas. My florist quoted me 800 for the real flowers and I feel like that's reasonable but, is it worth it if I can buy fake flowers and put them together? I have no experience doing flowers and have a very specific vibe I want to meet. Pics below. What are the pros and cons?

Ask a grocery store florist what they can do. They are very talented and don’t charge wedding prices.

From what we saw, faux flowers that look realistic actually cost more than out of season exotic fresh flowers, and fresh flowers were actually the cheapest. Decide the value of your time/skill/patience before you commit to DIY because it can often be much more expensive than hiring a professional and you actually don’t save money because your time is minimum wage per hour in addition to cost of supplies.

If you like DIY, then you can certainly try. I suggest making one centerpiece to weigh your pros and cons. Make note of your time spent scouring the internet, the money spent incl. shipping costs from multiple sources, your personal talent to recreate, and time spent arranging your final product. I think the low, metal urn will be a hard internet search, but perhaps you can get a plastic or plaster base that's not too flimsy. Do remember, your time is precious and time is money. Also, factor in who will set the decor and remove them after your wedding.

On costs based on pic #2, if each flower is $5 and base $20, plus styrofoam stuffing and topper x 13 then this puts you at 760 without the greenery. Not all greenery is the same. Good faux flowers can be very pricey. I think some couples had good experiences renting or doing sola wood flowers. 800 is probably the best deal I've ever heard for medium to large centerpieces.
