Real Id/license Last Name Update

Leanne, on September 8, 2022 at 11:44 PM Posted in Massachusetts Planning 0 2

Hello, could any brides share info on the process of changing/updating your name when you already have a Real ID license? Preferably in MA? I'm afraid I'll get to the RMV and won't have what they need. For example, do I need all the same documentation as the first time? Thanks!

I didn't need it. I just needed the standard name change documents (which is social security and marriage license), but I didn't need to provide the proof of address, birth certificate, or what else.

I was also in the situation where my real ID expired 3 months before the wedding, and I didn't need to show any documents to renew my Real ID, so I think once you have one, you don't need to go through all the proof to renew it
