Can I just take a moment to say that vendors drive me absolutely INSANE?! When we planned our destination wedding, we had tons of issues with vendors not responding in a timely manner, etc. but it was during the pandemic so I just brushed it off and attributed it to everyone having craziness in their lives at that point. Then fast forward to our DW in 2022, and our officiant doesn't show up to our wedding! This is despite her verifying the date, time and location with us twice in the months leading up to our big day, AND her requesting a zoom meeting with us 2 weeks prior to the wedding, where she once again confirmed all the details. Then, 1 hour before our wedding, she tells us she "accidently double-booked" and won't be performing our ceremony! So we ended up flying home from our DW still NOT married. So we planned a romantic, low-key courthouse ceremony for this Halloween. We figured it's just the 2 of us, we got our attire 4+ mos in advance, and the ceremony is being performed by the judge at the courthouse, so we shouldn't have to worry about a random officiant not showing up. The only vendors we have are the florist doing my bouquet, and the photographer (that we are spending WAY too much money on, but we wanted to splurge to get a very established photographer with consistently fantastic pictures, and the vibe we were looking for). Awesome. 2 vendors, so we shouldn't have to worry, right? 😆 When I signed the contract, she told me to email her with any ideas I had for photography. So, I emailed her at 3 weeks out with my ideas and to verify the date, time and location. No response. An entire week goes by... still no response. So I reach out to her again at the 2 week mark, just to verify she had received my email. Still no response. WHY does it take vendors weeks to respond to email?? I know at my job that would be beyond unacceptable! And basically with any other business I've encountered, emails are return within 48 hrs. So why does it take vendors SO long?? And it's consistently been the highest paid, and most seasoned vendors that I've had issues with. I've already been screwed over by multiple vendors and had one not even show up to our wedding.... and now here I am, less than 2 weeks til our simple "no stress" courthouse ceremony, and I have no idea if our photographer is going to ghost us. Send help, I'm not ok!! 😫😆
