Questions about the gifts & what to do with old stuff

We waited until after our wedding to get rid of any of the old stuff, but once we finally did, we either gave the old stuff to friends that wanted it, or donated it to a local charity. You could also try to sell the used stuff (depending on what it is and what condition it's in).

We're getting rid of some things that are definitely not good enough to pass on. Others we're giving away or planning on donating.

We opened everything as it arrived to make sure nothing got broken in transit. That way if anything was broken, we didn't miss the window to return/ replace anything. You're not technically supposed to start using the new stuff until the wedding, but we don't really have the space to store two sets of stuff. We donated our items that got replaced.

I kept both but i also gave away some of the older stuff

We waited until after the wedding to get rid of old things. Luckily my parents were kind to hold our gifts for us at their house since we have an apartment and didn’t have much room to store both old plus new stuff. Anything I could hand down to my sister, I have to her. For the rest I just donated.
