If you go to PR, definitely visit the bioluminescent bay! It was bad weather when we’re tried to go but we still got to see the phenomenon for like 5 minutes and it was amazing.

When did you go to bioluminescent bay???? Last I heard it was totally dead because of sunscreen and tanning oil...

My Fiancé and I have been to PR a couple times! That's actually where we're getting married in January 2023 as well. I absolutely loooove it there. Honestly I would live there if I could figure out how to get my counseling license reciprocity there! I highly recommend a snorkeling tour departing from Fajardo, visiting El Yunque in Rio Grande, and Cuevo del Indio in Arecibo. Old San Juan has some INCREDIBLE old forts that are 100% worth visiting as well. Also make sure to stop and get a Pina Colada in a pineapple from a vendor on the side of the road and try the Mufongo at a restaurant or food stand. Ugh just writing this up makes me so excited to be back there again in January!!! It's gorgeous and maybe one of my favorite places on earth. That's all. I'm biased hehe

I went in August 2021. Definitely not dead! You’re not allowed to swim in it, but you can take a kayaking tour.

I’ve not been to PR but I can speak to USVI a bit— a USVI vacation is a very DIY trip- it’s not a majorly resort-y environment and you won’t find any all inclusives. To some, this is a pro and to others a con! So, it depends what *kind* of trip you’re looking for. I love St John and it is so beautiful and the beaches are wonderful, but they’re also rent a jeep, pack a lunch and chairs, and drive to them kind of beaches — to me it adds to the adventure! But it depends what you’re looking for. After our wedding I really just wanted to lounge in a pool and have some one bring me drinks, lol, and STJ at least is not the greatest place for that. But it’s a great place for renting a house, buying groceries, and making your own drinks by the pool Smiley winking

We went to Saint Thomas for honeymoon this December and it was awesome! Definitely not a “sandals resort” vibe but we didn’t want that, we rented a jeep and stayed in a beach front VRBO, it was great. We went to Saint Johns one day for lots of hiking and snorkeling, did a snorkel boat tour on Saint Thomas, a sunset booze cruise, and there are so many cool beaches and restaurants to explore on the island.

I am an archivist and historian, so Old San Jaun is definitely calling my name! 😂 Thanks for the other recommendations! Any hotel recommendations?

Hotel El Convento is our wedding venue so obviously that would be at the top of my list. It has a cool history for the historian in you too- used to be an old Convent!!! Villa Herencia Hotel and CasaBlanca Hotel are great as well and are options that we're giving our guests who aren't family. If you're looking for more resort style then you'll want to look more towards the Condado or Rio Grande areas. La Concha is in Condado and super modern and in a part of town that is very party-like and then The Hyatt Grand Reserve is just a gorgeous all inclusive resort

Fun!!! Was anything closed? I heard some of the historical sites were damaged during the last hurricane.

Thanks!! Hotel El Convento is on my list! I was also looking at The Gallery Inn. I’ll definitely check the others out!
