Publix Cakes?

Kristen, on January 18, 2019 at 1:13 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 20

FH and I are wondering if any of y'all are getting a Publix cake or have been at a wedding with one. We are getting a variety of donuts and want to keep the cake small and simple, and I don't want to spend a lot

I’m probably not doing a cake, but if I change my mind last minute, I’m definitely picking up a small cake from the local grocery store! We’re also doing donuts and cake pops. I don’t think anyone will really care. I can’t remember what any cakes looked like at the weddings I’ve been to. If I do a cake, im just planning on having a pretty cake stand to stand it on.

I would LOVE a Publix cake! I live in the Midwest but have family in Florida and my uncle works as a manager at one of their stores. Their bakery section is AMAZING. The cakes taste and look amazing, so I wouldn't hesitate at all! Plus, your cake is just one part of your wedding. People will remember your food and your happiness more than the cake

Hey Kristen!! I had a Publix cake at an event and it was very delicious!! Having the cake and other sweet treats is a great idea. Another bride asked this same question and others shared their experiences. It may be helpful to check it out! - Publix Wedding Cakes

Do you know what flavor you want?

We are just doing a white cake probably. We both don't care much for cake. We might cut a donut and feed it to each other Smiley smile

    Hi,
i actually selected my Publix cake last weekend. I got a naked vanilla cake. For about 50-75 people. It was around $300. Just to give you an idea.

What is the naked cake? Is that the one with no icing on the sides? We are doing that one or a plain white/ivory buttercream. Thank you for the price point, that’s the same size I’ll be needing!

This is my example for my cake. Which works for us, not crazy about icing or fondant. Also just so you know, they do flower or designs for extra. We opted to get real succulents instead. & they do delivery.

Hi Kristen! My fiance and I are using Publix for our wedding cake. They offer free tastings, have a wide variety of designs, and on top of all that they deliver to your venue also! I would highly recommend using them!

We are getting our wedding cake from Publix. We love their cakes and we have been to many weddings with Publix wedding cakes.

However, it sounds like you don't want a wedding cake, just the cake option. Have you considered cupcakes? They may be cheaper depending on how many people you have. Or you could just do a top layer to a cake.

    Options

    Build the donuts into cakes

    Cupcake wall

Have the cupcakes in individual boxes or bags " to go"

Put the cake in a different area. Maybe have the cake next to you guys, but once you cut the cake it normally disappears anyways and it gets passed around to the guests.

I honestly would have a Publix cake at any party I host including my wedding. I love Publix cakes so much. Im pretty sure I would die for a Publix cake haha

My FMIL is baking a family tradition cake for us and then we are ordering sheet cakes for guests from Publix. I grew up in Florida on Publix Bakery cakes and honestly couldnt think of anything else I would want for dessert at my wedding (except for maybe their bakery cookies, those are amazing too).

Publix has great cakes! Call and talk to the decorator and ask for a tasting. They will send you home with a few different flavors.

As a newly engaged and retired Publix associate (that's besides the point). I would say yes Publix cakes are awesome, the buttercream is the best. I did however, ordered a wedding cake for my niece. It was DRY and stale, something was off. I would recommend going to a Publix that you trust and what we like call "a cake store". That way you'll be guarantee to have a "fresh" cake and an experience decorator. Not all associates are created equal.
