Propping Up Large Welcome Mirror

Caroline, on April 22, 2023 at 4:16 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4
Hi everyone! I found a steal of a deal for this large antique mirror that we want to use as a welcome sign.

It weighs 32-35lbs (maybe more) and the dimensions are 54x32 inches. Because of its height we want it to be lower to the ground so it's not awkwardly tall. We also dont want whatever that props it uo to detract from the mirror. Any recommendations for how to prop it up? We went to Hobby Lobby and they don't think that their easels will support this mirror. I appreciate the help!Propping Up Large Welcome Mirror 1

Will this be placed indoors or outdoors? If outdoors, is there a tree that you can lean it up against?

It will be placed outdoors. Unfornatley no. it is just a lawn and the front of the building has greenery around it so we can't lean it up against the building.

Place 2 big spikes in the ground that come up over half way up the back of the mirror. You can cover the spikes in colors of felt that co-ordinate with your wedding or any kind of fabric you like. Secure the front with a lower spike that is not as obvious but will keep the mirror from sliding.

Wooden sticks lodged in the ground spray painted same color as the outside of mirror would look good
