Proposal Stories & Pics!

I WISH I had photos! Mine was in the rain next to a lake in front of my old house. I had thought he was going to propose that day but it was already evening so I was convinced it wouldn’t happen. Just the two of us and I was so happy. Totally romantic and perfect.

We only got a photo of us after the proposal . I wish we had one of the actual proposal, but it was perfect for me so I’m okay with just having the memory!!! I’m a lover of Christmas and my absolute favorite thing is going to a Christmas tree farm and cutting down our tree. I get super excited every year. We always go the day after Thanksgiving and this year my Thanksgiving was AWFUL. So I was really down, and my FH was like so unphased by it! So we got the dog all geared up, we were all in matching outfits, and we headed to the farm. I found this tree that was at the very edge of the farm, completely secluded and I said that’s the one I want. We squatted down to take a picture with our dog and he just stayed there. He pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked me right there. It was so magical and perfect!

We had talked about getting married eventually. So one day we went to the mall and we were going passed the jewelry store and he said let’s go in bc I wanted to get some information. After he got his information he ask me to pick out my ring. We had to get the rings sized. While we were waiting we talking about how he was going to propose to me bc he had some ideas. Once we received our rings, we went to my mom’s house. he had the ring in his pocket the whole time. So we went to my mom’s house and she started talking to my fh. Finally she says to me what is going on with you. And he said to her here’s what is going on. He pulled out the ring in front of her. She was no more good. She was like omg, omg. And she started calling my dad upstairs. Omg omg. Once my dad came upstairs, my fh proposed to me in front of my parents and my grandfather. The look on my mom’s face was priceless. My dad and grandfather was excited. We didn’t tell the rest of the family until Christmas Day.

Took me on a surprise trip to Nashville during 4th of July. Proposed during their big fireworks show 🥰

Wish I had something to show for it. He had his parents secretly record his proposal. It was on cruise (my first one outside of being in the military) and it was captain's night. We were all dressed up and after dinner we went to the top deck to take photos.


We're in the middle of nowhere so the video is damn near pitch black and you can't really hear anything. They didn't want to have the light coming from the phone otherwise I'd know they were recording. Still wish they would have turned it on lol.

I was similar! Mine was on my bday and I thought maybe but by 5:00 when he was discussing coming back to drink beers after dinner (we were at the beach in NC with my family), I figured it wasn't happening. I texted my best friend and said "false alarm. It's not gonna happen. No need to be on edge". At dinner my brother and sister-in-law asked if it was ok to take off early bc my niece (1yrs old) was getting antsy. They left and "forgot" their diaper bag. As we were leaving I noticed and FH said he'd take it for them. He asked to walk on the beach and I gave him grief about carrying this backpack (rather than dropping it in the car) the whole time. I even have a picture I sent to my SIL and said "no worries, diaper bag is safe, Chris is guarding with his life!". It STILL didn't register. We got down to beach and he walked us off away from the crowd. He opened up backpack and said he wanted to give me my gift. It was a shirt that said "last birthday before Mrs.". As I was reading it, he got down on one knee and proposed!

Mine was also on my birthday during our Murder Mystery Dinner party. What was so surprising is we had talked about him not proposing on "big days" like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, or birthdays! We had just moved away that year and some of my best friends were going to come celebrate my birthday. I was secretly hoping he'd propose a few days before my birthday so we can celebrate with my best friends on my birthday weekend. Anyway, I was not expecting it at all. I didn't see the ring on the cake and after he asked, all i could say was "no..." that can't be right. It was the most nerve racking 5 seconds of his life, he said!

So what was even funnier was earlier in the day we were going to a karaoke bar. I. Love. Karaoke. Apparently he was going to ask us to sing a duet and he was going to propose then. Unfortunately there were huge thunderstorms that the bar lost power lol. It would have been so awesome then but in the end, I'm glad he popped the question in front of my dearest friends

My heart!! What an amazing surprise

FH and I are both college students studying the natural sciences (I’m biology and he’s environmental science) We were both chosen as student researchers and the college paid for us to go research coral reefs in San Pedro, Belize for 10 days! It was the trip of a lifetime! On our last night there, we walked the beach under the beautiful stars and then he walked me out on a dock with twinkly lights and got down on one knee! What I didn’t know was that our whole research team had followed us and was there taking pictures, hiding in the darkness. Then our professors paid for us to have a super nice dinner with champagne and fresh seafood and multiple desserts! It was the happiest night of my life!💍

We take videos on all our dates and then screenshot photos out later. I’m so happy we do that because I ended up filming my own engagement. My man had the salt and pepper diamond ring for almost a year, he wanted the proposal to be so special. And it was nothing short of magical!

My proposal story will forever be a source of laughter for us.

We were in California at this beautiful resort - he had taken a "bungalow" up on the cliffs facing the Pacific Ocean. There was a little patio with an awesome fire pit.

Later on he told me he had this whole plan including a location within the resort he wanted to take me to at sunset. However, I decided to schedule a massage at 4pm. He didn't know what to do! Say no? In retrospect he did ask several times how long was the massage!!!

So after the massage I was poking around the spa, taking my time, completely oblivious, lol.

I get back to the bungalow and since I had rushed right over to the spa after checking in, I started exploring the room. Meanwhile, he's standing outside, sun setting, fire pit blazing, calling my name. I finally come outside, annoyed, like what? What is so urgent you need me out here right now?

He's like, can you just stop and appreciate this? The view, the sunset, etc?

I'm like, yeah, it's beautiful, thank you baby. And then he says, had I planned things better I would have proposed here. I was like, ummm, yeah that would have been pretty awesome... And then he turned towards me, reached into his pocket, pulls out a little red box and said, will you marry me? OMG OMG OMG

And that's the story!
