Pro and Cons of your Honeymoon Destination...

We went to Punta Cana. We've been there a handful of times and love it. I think the only con for us is that the excursions don't really appeal to us. Since we live on the beach we can snorkle, take our catamerans and jetskis, deep sea fish etc. all of the time. If this is something you can't do regularly, it's an awesome destination. ETA One other thought. Be prepared to see a lot of flesh. Lots of topless women and children and banana hammocks. It didn't bother me except when there was a man photographing his 8/9 year old playing nude in the sand. That drew the line of creepy from my American stand point.

Hi! Check out Punta Cana for your HM, it's beautiful! I'm having my wedding at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe and I can't be more thrilled. It's all inclusive, plenty of restaurants and activities.

I was looking at Hawaii, Punta Cana and Aruba. I decided to go with Punta Cana because it was cheaper to do plus they have all inclusive resorts. Hawaii didn't have any. I didn't want to worry about too much on my honeymoon. Just wanted to relax.

@Amanda J I have heard mixed reviews about Punta Cana but Ive always wanted to go there.

My only real tip about Punta Cana: if you go -- make sure you stay at a nice (4 or 5 star) hotel. I went to a 3 star once down there and it was miserable. Awful food, harassed on the beaches by salesmen, dirty rooms, etc. although I am sure that could really apply to any honeymoon location.

You can also book now and not pay until you get there using priceline.com. You can also cancel up.to the day before if you change your mind.

FH and I went to Aruba in March of this year on vacation! It's actually where we got engaged! I would definitely recommend Aruba! It was such a beautiful island. Even though Aruba is very small, there was always something to do. We will definitely be making the trip back there one day!

@Y&F we decided to go with Bavaro Princess Resort.

Well we haven't been yet but we're going to London and so far the biggest con is that everything there is EXPENSIVE. I hadn't budgeted nearly enough for the day-to-day food and transportation.

But pro- most everything we want to see seems pretty centralized.

We are going to Hawaii! There is quite a bit to do there, so we know we won't get bored! Lots of beaches to choose from as well. The con for me is that it is expensive...food is going to be a huge expense...

We went to Hawaii - we wanted to go far away, since we knew we were using all our vacation time at once. We wanted a mix of relaxation and excursions. But yeah, the con is there are no all-inclusives, so things were expensive. It was nice not having to deal with any "international" travel though, even though we were so far away, we were still in the US

I believe Punta Cana seems to be the popular destination

So many great honeymoon destinations! We're going to Japan and the biggest con I think will be learning enough Japanese to get around! Also probably public baths and hot springs... I'm so shy omg. I'm super excited though

Totally agree with Live Free! Has to be a 4 or 5 star resort.. don't settle for the cheaper resorts because they SUCK!
