Pregnant moh

Laura, on January 18, 2020 at 7:04 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
We are having a small wedding with just one Matron of Honor and one Best Man (fiance's brother). No bridesmaids or groomsmen.

My MOH just told me that she is pregnant, which is extremely exciting! However, her due date is 11 days after my wedding, so I'm nervous that the little one may come early and my MOH won't be there. That leaves me with no one on my side at the altar.
I'm not asking her to step down (unless she wants to) and either way, I am not picking a new MOH. She's my best friend!
My question is: If the baby does come early or if she is too big to feel comfortable walking/standing, can we plan to have the Best Man walk down the aisle and sit in the front row with his parents? I know it's okay to have an uneven bridal party, but I think it would look strange with 1 and 0.

Of course. We're doing a small ceremony and my fh won't have a best man but my bf will be my moh and will walk down the aisle by my side. It doesn't have to be even. He can still stand by his friend during the ceremony.

That’s so exciting! I think having a best man without a maid of honor is no issue at all. And if she is still pregnant but unable to comfortably walk down the aisle, maybe she could sit up front before the procession begins for you to pass your bouquet to.

I think that’s okay if he walked down but didn’t stand up! What a tricky situation! I hope it all works out for you❤️

I think having the best man sit if you feel like 0-1 would look weird sounds like a perfect plan. Also props to you for being so understanding of your friend and supporting her!
