Postpartum loose belly help

Jessica L, on June 10, 2016 at 9:51 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 32

So I had a baby seven months ago. Yes seven I know I've been slacking . When my body is relaxed my stomach still sticks out like I'm three/four months pregnant . It's awful . I was super in shape pre pregnancy . Now I can't seem to get my stomach flat.

I need to loose 15 lbs in 77 days . To be back to pre pregnancy weight . Is it possible ? How can I get my stomach to not look pregnant again ?

In seven days a new gym with child care will be opening up by my house !!! Needless to say I'll be attending.

I had same problem. I cut my carbs significantly and lost about 25 pounds in 4 months. And then I wore Spanx the day of the wedding

As long as you eat clean and get at least moderate exercise you should be able to get down to youd prebaby weight where youll be more confident in your body, but try to remember that your body is never going to go back to exactly like it was before. You are still beautiful just in a different way than before

Okay, this is not what you are going to want to hear. Your post partum body is not going to look like your pre-partum body.

I am 3 years post partum and I am at my pre-partum size. However, I still have a little belly and no amount of clean eating, exercise, water etc. changes that, it's part of bearing and pushing out the little monsters. As well, if you are still breastfeeding in any sort of capacity, your body will hang on to a couple of extra pounds to help you motor through.

Girl I am right there with you only my son is 1 and a half. I have lost most of it but my belly still is not where I want it to be. Unfortunately I am out of time. Eating right is huge but from how fit you were before, I am sure you know that. I think once you get in the gym, stick to a healthy lifestyle and workout at 5 to 6 times a week and you will be back to pre-baby body before the wedding. At least that is how much exercise my body requires, mainly weight training and HIITS to lose weight & tone up.

When I was shedding lbs post-partum, I did a lot of cardio (35-40 mins steady cardio 3-4x per week), and once the weight started coming off, I started doing more concentrated cardio sessions look up "HIIT" for shorter amounts of time, and incorporating weight lifting. That is what worked for me personally. I was 30 lbs down from my pre-baby weight within 8-12 weeks! A healthy, well-balanced diet will compliment your efforts!

I am 7 months pp too... Inam happy that I lost the 80 punds of extra weight I put during my pregnancy, however my body looks nothing like before and I have accepted the fact that it never will, but definetely exercising and eating healthy will help you not to look pregnant... good luck

And I want to add, if you work for it, your body can look just like before or even better. I have friends that have 1 or 2 kids and you would have never known looking at their bodies, abs and all. Some women's bodies may not have the capability to bounce back or get back to pre-baby shape but some women's do. Everyone is different.

Definitely possible! And don't worry I didn't start getting back in shape with my oldest until she was TWO. The key (especially for the flat belly) is eating clean. Drink lots of water (with lemon helps) and decrease salt intake. I had success eating 5-6 small meals and snacks per day instead of 3 large meals. I actually would use smaller plates, because it kind of tricks your mind into thinking you're eating more- when you see a smaller plate FULL vs. Seeing a large plate half empty.

Per your pre-baby pics, you had some awesome abs. In addition to all the above great advice, I would also incorporate the exercises you used to get those previously toned abs. I also like to do different variations of plank exercises...I have quite a few pinterest pins and youtube videos saved that are easy for me to do at home...no baby sitter neededSmiley smile

I agree with doing HIIT and making sure you drink enough water. When I want something with flavor, I mix half lemonade half green tea together so it's a diuretic to make sure I don't hold on to extra water weight. What helped a lot for me to lose stomach weight was barre classes, specifically using a kettle bell and doing squats and lifts. Barre class made it fun to do it and less like a workout so if the new gym near you offers it, I strongly suggest it! You could also Google barre class at home and it pops up with some workouts. Just remember: you're still beautiful no matter what! Your body has been through a lot and it's okay to not look like you used to. That doesn't mean you suddenly become not as beautiful as you were. Your body made a whole new human being, that's an amazing thing!

Girl. A baby changes your body FOR LIFE. It's not impossible, but most women never get that pre-baby body back. Eat clean, work hard and your body will do the best it can. I am 5 months PP and I wasn't in great shape to begin with, but after a c-section my stomach is just so jacked up. I totally get your frustration.
