Please be careful!

Andrea, on April 2, 2020 at 4:58 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 12

We live in a good area, it's safe to walk the dogs in the middle of the night type safe.

We ran into a ton of cops yesterday a few blocks down, with a helicopter flying above us. They had just arrested 4 kid who were breaking into cars stealing what they could.

Before our usual walk today my husband told me to put my engagement ring away. I'm glad I did because a questionable car drove up to us and rolled down their window, and a person with a mask on with sunglasses just started staring at us for a good 10 seconds before driving off.

I am not putting on my ring until all of this gets better, and I suggest everyone else puts their rings in a safe place as well. Not only is it the most expensive thing I own, but it's so precious to me I wouldn't want it stolen. I think people will become desperate in the next few months, and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Please stay safe everyone!

Oh my, I'm glad to hear your safe! Some people really need to get lives and stop taking from people that work hard for theirs. I'm sure with this crisis there might be more.

    Stay safe and Good luck

I've been wondering whether the crime rate will go up or down with this. On the one hand, home burglaries will be getting more difficult with people at home all the time. On the other, people without jobs may get desperate. Overall, it appears crime rates are going way down:

However, it is critical at all times to have your engagement ring insured. You can replace a ring. But if you start resisting a robber in order to avoid losing the most valuable thing you own, you could end up hurt or worse.

Wasn't there over 6 million who filed for unemployment last week, and there was about 3 million the week before. So that makes it about 10 million unemployed that we know of cause they still don't have numbers for this week.

    Scary times.

That's an interesting article. I wonder what the statistics will be after a month or two.

My ring was insured long ago cause I didn't want to wear it without protection. But, I also know I'll be the one who would end up hurting myself because I wouldn't give them my ring.

My car got broken into last night so it’s definitely on the upswing. And they only stole the case of water and the ziplock bag of food I had on my back seat. It’s sad times.

Sheesh that’s scary. I haven’t been wearing my ring the past two weeks in fear of spreading the virus. Another good reason to not wear it.

    Thanks for the advice.
