Plans the night before the wedding?

Kara, on February 20, 2024 at 11:01 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6

Hi everyone, looking for some advice from fellow introverts! What are your plans for the night BEFORE the wedding? Our wedding in June will be pretty small (65 guests) and we're not having bridesmaids or groomsmen. I also don't really want a big bachelorette party. I'm not sure how to spend the night before the wedding. I want to celebrate with the girls I'm inviting to the wedding, but I'm afraid if I do a sleepover, I'll get socially burnt out before the big day. We're already having a rehearsal dinner with family early in the evening. I also don't really want to spend the night before alone (my fiance and I aren't sleeping together before marriage). Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

We just had our rehearsal dinner and basically called it a night. My husband and I did share a hotel room the night before (we had already been living together for years and sleep better together than apart and we felt a good night’s sleep was more important than a superstition). After the rehearsal dinner (which ran a little late) we just went back to the hotel, and then went to bed. I think we may have watched a little tv.

I didn’t do anything in particular. My bachelorette was two weekends before the wedding. The day before, we had our rehearsal and dinner, then I went home alone. I double-checked my packing, drank a glass of wine while watching some tv, and went to bed early. It was nice not having the pressure of anyone else there. My fiance slept at a hotel that night, and even the dog was already in boarding!

If it was me I would enjoy an old school date night. One where we go out to dinner and walk and talk then take me back to the hotel and give me a little kiss before the big day.

Maybe do lunch with the girls? This might work better on a weekend though since you wouldn't have to plan around work. You could go to a place you like and have a good lunch together celebrating, but you don't have to worry about doing it past your bedtime

Many rehearsals end earlier so the couple and guests who had traveled can rest for the big day. I had some traffic snafus and checked into my hotel later than I wished and laid out my dresses. I think I had thought of a sleepover with my mom or sis, but it was late already and they had family to watch over. You can do what you like and if that includes nothing but a peaceful night, then you know what's best for you. On Johnson's idea, hubs and I had a funnymoon three days before the wedding and before any family got to town. We did zero wedding planning and just enjoyed each other and watched a baseball game.

I'm traveling back to America for the wedding. Friday I'm going to file at the town clerk for a marrage license, go to HR block to file my taxes, do mani pedis with my sisters (who still live at home) eat my mom's cooking then sleep on her couch.
Saturday FH's parents are hosting dinner for his family who lives out of state at 5:30. This is half of the wedding guests
My venue is booked Saturday, so we are doing the wedding rehersal 1 hour before, after everyone is dressed up.
