Planning

I have reschedule my wedding from August of 2020 to April of 2021. So the discussion was brought up about the wedding being in April bc of Covid. My original response was that we were still having the wedding in April but the concern is everyone that is on my guest list may or may not come bc of covid and I have a good amount of guest who are older. So that is a major concern along with the younger guest as well. The question was raised to me in regards to having my wedding in April with less guest and have pictures where everyone are wearing masks or get married and try to push my wedding back to the summer. This would mean That I have pushed my wedding back again. I really would like to have all of my guest there to help us celebrate our wedding. I did talk to my venue about it and they are open for weddings and they are following the guidelines in regards to my wedding. Also, they have taken precautions for my wedding/covid for our wedding in April. They were very helpful in trying to send my new dates for wedding in case it needs to be changed which is a good thing. With this being said, my fh and I have discussed going to city hall and getting married and pushing the date back to the summer so that everyone can be there. I am leaning more towards going to city hall and getting married and pushing my date back. We shall see how this will work as April gets closer and how covid will effect this April wedding.

I think if your venue is open and is taking Covid precautions, you should proceed to have your wedding as planned in April. Things will not be much different by the summer. People will still be wearing masks and Covid guidelines will still be in place.

If you decide to go to city hall and have vow renewal later when all guests can attend, then I would push that back to 2022.

I never thought about pushing it back that far. Something to think about and another discussion to have.

True. We will see how the guidelines may be by then. It is something to think about and really try to make a good decision about it. Thanks for your help and input.

Hi Alisha! I’m so sorry you and your fiancé are going through all this re-planning. Been there myself and it was probably the most stressful situation I have encountered! Glad to hear your venue takes the precautions and wants your wedding to be safe! Do they have an outdoor option? If yes, this would allow a higher guest count. If you are worried about photos with lots of masks, we did photos outdoors and removed masks between photos. It’s tough decisions all around for sure. I realize masks and such are not a part of any bride’s vision, but if you decide to go forward with April, you maybe pleasantly surprised at how nice it could be! Good luck ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks for the info. I did not plan for outdoor for my wedding and and the photographer idea is a great one.

I'm choosing to carry on with the show. We have a small guest list though.

Hi Alisha! I'm so sorry you're facing maybe another postponement 😭 We also postponed our big celebration so I know how that feels. One thing I would caution you though is that things might not be better by summer. We are August and starting to come up with backup plans because I can't see us being able to have our 175 guests inside safely, even then (obviously lots can change depending on vaccine etc but wanting to be safe). If you do decide to postpone the big celebration, honestly I would look to late 2021 or 2022 so you aren't having to face this again come summer. Good luck... Its a terrible choice!

We are trying to come up with a plan for our wedding and for everyone. We are discussing our wedding plans and we are going to make the right decision for us. It is a hard decision to make as to what to do. Thanks a lot.
