I've been planning mine on my own and it's been pretty stressful even though I have a calendar and notes (including this wedding wire platform) on scheduling and due dates for every vendor. Sometimes it can get overwhelming. Definitely don't be afraid to ask for help, even if it's the smallest of things. Our wedding is a couple months away and I'm still a bit on the stressing side because everything seems to be closing in pretty fast with finalizing everything. Still excited though lol.

Yea. That's bound to happen. We have a dry erase calendar board with a dry erase notes section. That's where we write our bills/wedding payments and due dates. I use it religiously and it's a big help!

I’m not doing everything on my own but I do have this app but I mostly use The Knot as far as my planning checklist goes. That keeps me on track & I’ve added a few things as I go.

Hello friend I’m planning our wedding myself too. It gets overwhelming at times but it is totally doable. Just make the priorities of what needs to happen fits like Venue, dates, lock down the cost and save $ for the rest. Use Costco cart to put charges on and pay it off ASAP. You’ll build credit, get point and freebies from the fabulous Costco

I've planned both our minimony (10/6/20) and our big wedding (3/27/21) and I haven't been stressed at all. I've been looking at different checklists seeing what I can do and knock out of the way and it has helped ALOT. I've gotten most of the tasks done early so I wouldn't have to stress about it later down the line.

What exactly are you stressing over?

I planned my wedding on my own. We didn't want or need to hire a wedding planner. They are way too expensive and I am very particular so I knew it would have been a waste of money.

I've been planning my wedding on my own for a year and a half now. I have just about everything done, I just need to finish up small details. But let me tell you it was for me very stressful and still is. I can't wait for my wedding to be here already so I can relax.

Is there something in particular stressing you out? My mom bought me The Knot wedding planner which she gave me the day we got engaged and I found it very helpful. I also found the WeddingWire super helpful.

I totally get where you are coming from. I knew what color I wanted, but part of the problem was that I wasn't familiar with the area my girls and I went shopping at. Half my girls live in one area, the other live in another area, and I live in a completely different area of all of them. We met in the middle. I called several different shops ahead of time and specifically told them what color, length and price point we were looking at. I also told them we needed to be able to try on the dresses in person that day. When we got there they had hardly anything even though they assured me otherwise on the phone. We ended up at David's Bridal because none of the other stores really had anything. I wanted to avoid David's Bridal because I heard mixed reviews, but that's where they got their dresses. If I could do it again, I would have just had them get their dresses from Azazie. My mom and sister talked me out of it because it is an online store rather than a physical store. My advice is first to decide if you want them in the same exact dress or if you are okay with them being in the same color, fabric and length, but different styles. I wanted them in the exact same style which made it 100 times more difficult so if I could go back I would have let them pick their own style. Next I would recommend ordering swatches which I wish I would have done. Once you need on those two things, then I would recommend going shopping for bridesmaids dresses because then you will know what designer you are looking for and if you need to look for multiple styles of dresses or just one dress.

Yes, did it by myself. Nope it was easy. Having the wedding outside on public property. No permit needed if less than 10 guests. We are only having 3 guests. Hired a photographer and made arrangements for wedding night lodging. I plan to buy flowers from the grocery store to make a bridal bouquet.

January 2022 bride here! Besides little confirmations here and there from my FH, I'm planning our wedding on my own!

The only thing I've found stressful so far is just making decisions haha! I'm really indecisive and the smallest details take me a little while to commit to. For example, I've just now narrowed down the styles of STDs and invites that I like to show my FH! My FH knows I struggle with making decisions, so he's been using the wedding as a way to push me out of my comfort zone. I just have a vision in my head and though I know it will never be perfect, I still want it to be close to that!

I've had to remind myself to breathe and take breaks from wedding planning. If not, I'd definitely be more stressed out than I am now! I'm glad we aren't using a wedding planner though, not only is it saving us money, but I'm sure that would actually stress me more because I wouldn't have complete control over everything lol.
