Places to PARTY...honeymoon suggestions??

Tracy, on January 20, 2012 at 5:22 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10

FH and I were considering Fiji, specifically, Qamea Resort in Fiji. It sounds fantastic to lay in the sun, visit the spa, scuba, and hike...but...

We're young(ish)...I'm 28 and he's 26. I'm afraid we'll get bored after a day or 2. Where should we go to PARTY?

We live close to Vegas, so that wouldn't be very special. I've been to Amsterdam a bunch and LOVE it there, but I would like to visit other places, too. Any suggestions?

Mexico...the resorts have a little bit of everything including some partying. I loved Las Brias in Acapulco and Riu Palace in Cabo...I know there are a few ladies on here that have also been to Mexico and could offer some other places as well.

How about Brazil? Never been there but it makes me think of partying Smiley smile Actually anywhere in South America would be cool. I went to Peru back in 2008 and Cusco was fun. Lots of clubs, plus you can go to machu pichu! FH and I were originally thinking of backpacking SA after the wedding. We were going to stay at Loki Hostel in Cusco. Now hostel doesn't really scream "Honeymoon" but you can get private rooms so that you're not bunking in with everyone else. And that place knows how to party!

We started searching for cruises (FH has never been on one and I know he'll love it). Now we're considering departing for a 5-day cruise to the Carribean from New Orleans, and spending a night or 2 there afterward. Sounds fun to me. We'll see!

New Orleans is awesome. A friend of mines lives there. We are 'youngish' too LOL I will be 26 when we get married and he will be 25. So we are considering a cruise for the same reasons. So we won't be stuck in one place for a week Smiley smile Good Luck

We looked at cruises to the Bahamas...looks fun! Have you looked into Royal Carribean? I've heard lots of great thing about them!

I agree with Heather, go with Royal Carribean. They discuss the Honeymoon package with you. You would enjoy the cruise.

    Hope this helps you.

We also wanted a combination of nightlife, beach time, and culture/adventure. We're going to Spain and stopping in Ibiza for a few days. Woot!

I've heard Puerto Rico is a blast. Playa del Carmen is fabulous. Great hotels/resorts, tons of beach clubs, restaurants and shops in walking distance, and access to Tulum and Cozumel for Mayan ruins, hiking, scuba/snorkeling, and other day trips.

Also.....if you REALLY want nightlife, I've heard that Iceland cannot be beat. I'm 100% serious. It's definitely not a beach HM but you will have so many hours of daylight, and Reykjavik is supposed to be a party town. We were planning a trip there in 2010 and had to cancel it, but that would be a fabulous place for a HM. Tons of adventures and hiking to do. Definitely special and not boring. The blue lagoon.....hel-lo.

Punta Cana!!!! Its a huge party! The Riu has special rooms that are more private, but then you have the option of partying!
