Photography Questions

Alta, on January 22, 2024 at 5:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

I'm looking for a photographer currently and they all give how many photos I should expect to get. How many do I really need though? Am I ever going to look through over 300 photos? Asking because sometimes the only difference in what they're offering is more photos per hour.

If the amount of photos doesn't matter much to you, I would instead focus on the quality of the photos to help you decide. The number of photos is to help set a realistic expectation for what you will receive.

The way I see it, the more photos, the better chance there is for ones you really like. If you recieve 500 photos, the number of one's you really, really like will be higher than if you recieve 80 photos.

I, personally, splurged on photos more than anything else for my wedding because when all's said and done, you'll have your memories and the photographs of the day and memories can become fuzzy over time. I really liked my photographer and still flip through my photos over two years later and smile seeing them.

But I understand not everyone is so big on photos like I am, and if you don't see yourself looking through an album all the time, maybe a lower photo count will be perfectly what you need.

The important thing, photo counts aside, is that you like the photographer's work. Don't go cheap on a photographer just because.
