Photographers and videographers

For those who already got married, did you feel like you had an entire paparazzi following you the whole day? More specifically, the ceremony? We have two photographers and two videographers and I'm worried that it will be distracting for us and/or our guests.

We didn’t have a videographer but we had two photographers and an assistant. During the ceremony I didn’t even notice them! But I was so in the moment and focused on my husband I didn’t really notice the guests or our wedding party as well.

I don't feel like they were like paparazzi. They were pretty discreet about it actually.

I literally don’t remember ever seeing our photographers during the ceremony.... or the reception. Unless it was formal photos they just disappeared.

At the ceremony I seriously didn’t even notice them!

I’ve kinda been wondering about this too Caytlyn. I feel like our 2 photographers will be discreet and unnoticeable (unless we’re taking poses shots, of course), but I’ve worried about the videographer. I don’t want to feel like I have to be “on” all day or that I’m acting for a camera.

This was specifically something daughter talked with her photographers/videographers about. Six months before their wedding, she and SIL attended a wedding where the photo/video was EXTREMELY intrusive...like, they blocked the view of the guests for just about everything, and they did NOT want that at their wedding. Their vendors were wonderful about being as discreet as possible. (To the extent that a videographer, who was filming the ceremony from the right side of the altar, is pretty much completely hidden behind a GM in all of the ceremony photos. Unless you knew to look for the videographer, you'd never even notice them in the background.) Talk with your vendors about how you'd like things to play out.

If they’re good photographers/videographers, then they’ll be able to get photos/video without being a distraction.

We didn't have a videographer, but we had two photographers, and I swear they were invisible. Aside from the posed photos, I barely noticed them.

We had 2 videographers and 2 photographers and honestly, I barely noticed that they were there except for our portraits, bridal party photos and family photos because they were directing.
