Personal vows

Olivia, on January 19, 2023 at 12:39 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 6
My fiancé and I have been together for about three years and we are writing our own vows and we are doing a first look. Do you have any suggestions on what I should say? What do I need to start off with in my wedding vows?

Your vows are promises to each other, so think about what it is that you promise to uphold in your marriage. They should be relatively short, only about 2 minutes or so. If you do a Google search, you can find some examples to give you a better idea.

You can include whatever you'd like in your vows: the story about how you met, funny stories from throughout your relationship, the moment you knew that your partner was the one, etc, but the most important thing that your vows should definitely include is the promises that you are making. Your promises can be serious ("I promise to always be loyal", "I vow to love and respect you", etc), or you can add some that are a little more humorous ("I promise to comfort you when your favorite football team loses", "I vow to remember to do the dishes", etc). Try to keep it all under 2-ish minutes. Pinterest and Google are both excellent resources to find examples and templates that you can use when writing your own vows.

I just finished writing mine. I started off by remembering the day I met him and how I felt at that time. Then I went into what I love about him and what he brings out in me. Next, I talked about about what I promise him. To close it out, I tell him everything he means to me.

Keep in mind that vows are promises, not love letters. Exchange love letters as you choose before the ceremony. But vows are what you are agreeing to do uplift and support each other as partners.

Hi Olivia again honey write from your heart how you feel about your future husband. Think about what made you fall in love with him how you smile when you think about him
