Outdoor wedding ?

Hi y’all!
My fiancé and I are getting married in November up in NH. We are trying to decide whether we want an outdoor ceremony or not! The thing is, November could be warm or cold. This past years we had snow in early November! Our wedding is the first weekend November and we are trying to decide whether it’s worth it to be outside or inside. Yes, we do have an option for both at our venue (and both options are beautiful), but we really just don’t know what to do!

Can you plan for outdoor and use the indoor space as a back-up?? That would be the best of both worlds. Smiley smile

I'd also check out the average temperatures in your venue's town on accuweather or weatherspark! It might just be too chilly to be enjoyable!

But you can still sneak a few quick pictures outside - no matter how cold it is! 📷

I live in New Hampshire (in the southern part of the state where its warmer) and would not recommend an outdoor ceremony in November. Even by late October it is cold enough that being outside while dressed up and not moving isn't all that pleasant unless its a really mild day.

The couple weddings I have attended in late October/early November in southern NH were either outdoors (ceremony only, reception was indoors) and painfully cold or planned to be outdoors (ceremony only) but then moved inside at the last minute due to chilly temperatures.

If you are planning on getting married up north or in the mountains, winter starts about a month earlier and ends a month later. In southern NH, I would say November-March you should plan to do both the ceremony and reception indoors (unless you are having a small elopement with a really hardy bunch). In April and October you can probably get away with having an outdoor ceremony in the southern part of the state, but the temperatures can be very variable and chilly days are common, so I'd have an indoor plan for your ceremony as well and plan for the reception to be indoors. I would recommend an outdoor wedding and reception from May-September only.

I relocated to New Hampahire from Alaska and would walk around in shorts and tshirts in November and into December in NH. For me, the weather was awesome! For anyone not used to living in a climate similar to Alaska, I wouldn't recommend an outdoor wedding in New Hampshire in November. Unless you have heat lamps and bonfires, complimentary blankets, and hand warmers everywhere, have everything inside.
