outdoor Feb Wedding - Atlanta?

Devon, on November 17, 2020 at 5:01 PM Posted in Georgia Planning 0 6

Hi guys,

I've only lived in Atlanta for a few months so I'm not super familiar with the weather here. Wondering if anybody has experience with having an outdoor ceremony + reception in late Feb here?

We will of course rent heat lamps, provide blankets but will it be warm enough to have the dinner outside?

Thanks a milion!

I just googled this & this is the result. So with an average low of 36 degrees I’m thinking it might be a little too cold for an outside dinner.

I recommend only having an outdoor reception if it's aeound lunch time. That way the weather will be tolerable with heat lamps.

North Georgia gets very cold so it may not be enjoyable. You could probably pull it off in South Georgia like Columbus or Albany but Atlanta is North Georgia and it could very possibly be snowing around then.

Atlanta late February is really hard to predict. There have been late Febs where it’s 75 degrees and everyone runs around in shorts as well as low temps and snow in other years.

It was In The 40s a few days ago and now it’s sunny and 70, that’s basically what all of winter is like here.
