Our dj

Our reception area has lots of natural light. The room at night has very nice lighting especially around the waterfalls. The rooms gave us a very tranquil vibe. At our consultation with our first potential DJ we included uplighting in the package but are still debating. Our entire package with the $2,000 retainer fee included would cost $4,885 with their vendor discount. We set up another consultation with another exceptional entertainment group to compare pricing. Uplighting costs approximately $1,600 and their most popular package is $2,500. We would have to pay for their meal because they are not a preferred vendor. We basically just need the MC/DJ, ceremony and reception music for a max of 100 ppl. This decision is daunting. Much needed advice. Thank you!!

$4,885 for a DJ is a LOT, even with uplighting. I would keep shopping around. I think uplighting could enhance the beauty of the venue and the waterfalls, but it's not necessary at all (especially if it sounds like the lighting is already nice).

Thank you your comment was so comforting. Our photographer/videographer will only cost under $6,000 and their work is phenomenal. Without any doubt, we locked in our date immediately. Him and I don’t want to spend nearly the same amount of money on just music and basic enhancements. We don’t have the budget. Without uplighting it will cost $3,890 (retainer fee included) We’re so distraught 😟

$3,890 is still way too much for a DJ, even in a HCOL area. You have a lot of time before the wedding, I would keep researching vendors and try to find someone with amazing reviews who's under $2000. WeddingWire has a great database of vendors, we searched by price range and found the DJs we wanted to speak with on there!
