Oklahoma Late May Weddings

Tara, on November 14, 2018 at 4:09 PM Posted in Oklahoma Planning 0 3

Hey guys!

I wanted to see how people who have/had/ or will have a wedding in Oklahoma in late May feel about the weather.

We are considering having a wedding in late May (around 24th), however we cant stand the heat, and we are having a indoor/outdoor wedding.

How have you all felt about late May weather in Oklahoma, is it always about 80 on memorial day weekends?

Thanks!

    Hello Tara!! Welcome to WeddingWire!!

I've personally never been to Oklahoma in May, but I did some research for you!! It looks like generally the temperature is in the low-mid 80's in OK during Memorial Day. I read that the region of OK you're in can greatly influence the climate because of the influence of the wetter southeast states and the dryness of the climate in Texas. It looks like it can be a bit humid over Memorial Day weekend as well.

What time of day are you two thinking of having your ceremony? Are you having the ceremony outside and reception inside or vice versa?

    Hey Rebecca!

Thank you for the help. We are actually wanting a Sunday Brunch wedding with the ceremony out doors, starting about 1130am and the reception will be and indoor/outdoor event. Im thinking although I love the idea of giving my guest a Monday off work to travel, its just going to be to out.

Here in OK, we never know about the weather, right? I'm getting married May 18th and we have a venue where we can set up either indoor or outdoor. It could be really hot, could be raining, etc so the option is nice. I'm waiting a little closer to time (probably just the week before) to determine if I will set up indoor or outdoor but I'll be buying decoration that would fit either.
