Congrats!!!! I’m not in Ohio but I’m October as well and hoping that we can safely move forward with our wedding in a few months. I also hope there’s not a second wave… Not just just for the sake of my wedding but for the country in general.

Congrats!! I'm in WI where they don't really have rules right now and most businesses are just making their own rules. Most are being responsible. My venue is opening mid June for weddings. I know the relief I felt hearing that yesterday. So congrats to Ohio brides!!

How have the cases been since then? Any concerns reported from the days?

In my county we have 33 cases; 25 of those have recovered. We had 1 death altogether. The COVID unit at the local hospital (we live in the largest town in the county so the COVID unit is located here) has more or less been disbanded. They did do a test to see how quickly they can assemble it to make sure they are prepared. While they have increased the number of tests being done; the percentage of cases continues to go down. If there is a spike it should happen in the next few days because the safer ban ended a week ago. We have been very lucky, I know it could be worse. But honestly the anxiety that I felt during the safer at home was so bad. I'm still taking some precautions but not having the anxiety has been the best thing.

In WI too, and postponed my July wedding as it seems there is not rhyme or reason to any guidelines or recommendations. Are the OH weddings allowed to go on without social distancing at full capacity, or will there be specific guidelines in place?

Where are you in WI? My venue is debating where they want to start for their max capacity they are looking at 25%, my guest list falls below that. It really should be up to the venue to decide and I think that most businesses are making sound decisions; at least in my area.

There hasn’t been anything specific but it just said no congregating, tables 6 ft apart, 300 max. My venue holds up to 250, my guest count was 150. Wondering if I have to downsize but I guess we will find out more later.

Question. What are your thoughts on dancing? Based on the restrictions do you think that means we couldn’t do that? Just looking for some insight because that’s my major concern after that announcement!

I'm in Milwaukee. My venue didn't have specific guidelines when we talked to them earlier this week. I guess I am struggling with being "legally allowed" to have a wedding vs. how my guests will feel and if they will be comfortable at the gathering. We also have some higher risk VIP's to think about. It's a tough decision and everyone just has to do what they think is best with the information they have. Maybe my date will come around and I'll regret it, who knows.

I think depends on how soon your wedding is. Mine is end of October. I think by then we could be totally out of this if all goes well. I have under 100 people invited and I respect if they don't want to come. Our venue has two dance floors one is covered. I think we can make it work. Best of luck to you

There will be social distancing to start. So some may have to trim down the guest list. But for those of us who could not move our date this is great news for us. There are other that chose to reschedule and that is great too. Whatever, works for each individual. No two situations are identical.

Cases are trending down. We are at a 1 to 1 transmission. 70% of deaths are from those in nursing homes. The virus is still out there. We still have to be careful. I will respect anyone who doesn't want to attend. My wedding is end of Oct. so the progress we have made in two months I hope will be ten-fold in 163 days.

Thank you, If there is a second wave it won't be any worse than what we just had. With a vaccine coming in the near future and 100 in trials in the works that is a positive. There is no way this economy can take another shut down. It won't shut down. If you look at the statistics in Ohio anyway over 70% of our deaths are nursing homes and our cases are in the prisons and nursing homes.

Gotcha yeah Milwaukee was hit rather hard in this. We live in a smaller town in central Wisconsin and haven't been hit hard. It must of been a tough decision. Good luck!

Definitely. I think it is an individual decision! Glad things will work out for you! And it's so great that your state is giving some direct guidance on this.
