Hey all,
I finally talked to my venue and was able to officially move my date. The plan was to move from 11/14/20 to 11/13/21 (to keep it on Saturday.) As to be (somewhat) expected, every Saturday in November was booked except the 27th. Aside from being WAY too close to Thanksgiving (and anniversaries sometimes falling on Thanksgiving) it is also my moms birthday. So, I said no and asked about the following weekend (12/4/21) and they had it open so I took it.
The date kept nagging me but I didn't figure out why, I had nothing on my calendar but December 4th.. I knew that date meant something. So, I called my mom and asked and she reminded me what it was!
Every year on 12/4 my family decorates our Christmas tree! It was my grandfather's birthday and while he was deployed the kids (my mom + her siblings) and my grandmother would put up and decorate the tree for Christmas. My grandfather has long since passed and I no longer live at home but we all decorate our trees on 12/4 as per tradition. At first I thought "oh no" but then I thought.. Well, it's a special day. My grandfather's birthday and the tree decorating tradition day. So, instead of panic it felt like a sign. Like, hey, maybe it will be okay by next year and we can get married. Maybe it was just meant to be. ☺️
Chin up, all! We will get through this- "this, too, shall pass."
