October Brides

All the October Brides... why did you choose October?! And to the October 2020 brides, how far along are you in your planning?

I got married October 2019. We chose October because it is my favorite month, orange is my favorite color, and it is a gorgeous month where we live! I remember checking off a lot of major planning milestones in February!

We chose October because September/October are the warmest months of the year where we live and we wanted an outdoor wedding where people weren’t cold! Our wedding planner was mostly booked for September so we picked October 6th.

We picked October because it's not too hot or too cold where we are and normally wasn't as booked as other months (so we thought lol - it's now one of the most popular months). We also enjoy fall and festive events and October is kind of the beginning of the festive months as well.

We wanted to book for our anniversary, which just happens to fall in October. Apparently it’s the most popular month of the year to get married in this area! I always thought everyone got married in the summer, but apparently fall is where it’s at! It is an absolutely gorgeous time of year and I think our photos will be stunning.

We chose October because I love the fall and we thought November would be too cold and September would be too warm

Our dating anniversary is 10/29, and we wanted a date close to that. Also we love Halloween, so 10/31 seemed perfect. I have all of the big stuff booked (venue, dj, caterer, cake hair and make up artist ), dress bought, all the things needed to make my center pieces and other odds and ends so far.

My fiancé didn’t want it in the summer (hot) and I didn’t want it in the winter (cold). So it was between spring and fall. We then made the decision based off of how beautiful fall is in the mountains where we will be having our wedding. We have the venue, catering, photographer, cello for vows/cocktail hour and wedding dress done.

I wanted October or November and got November. Purely for three superficial reasons: 1 - hurricane season in Florida is done and the weather tends to be a little less hot and humid but it is hit or miss and 2 - I love fall and 3 - both months do not conflict with any major holidays (Thanksgiving and Halloween do not count in our house ha ha...we love them but Christmas is the best lol) or birthdays so we can celebrate our anniversary.

We chose October bc fall in Western MA is absolutely gorgeous, and is my fave season. Spring weather here is unpredictable, I did not want to be a hot, sweaty summer bride, and winter was a NO lol. October will hopefully be a bit cooler, as I always envisioned an outside ceremony. We’re hoping for some prime foliage, as our venue overlooks a mountain!

We chose Oct because Fall is our favorite season and we knew we wanted a wedding in either September or Oct. Our venue had 10.10.20 available and we loved that date so it was that easy.

We have most of the big things booked just need to book the florist, we know who just need to sign the contract/pay deposit and the officiant who we are meeting with in a couple of weeks and probably will sign then.

Our date was October 5th! We also had an outdoor ceremony and reception and October is the best month for all things outdoors here in NC.

October is definitely the most popular wedding month here in NC. The weather is perfect and so is the foliage.

It sounds like you are on top of things! Do you have any other big things left on your checklist? Because it seems like you’ve got it mostly done.

I love the mountains in the fall. We had a mountain wedding also! So pretty! It sounds like you’ve got a lot of the major things checked off the list! What’s next to do for you?

I really did not want a hot summer or cold winter wedding lol. And I felt like October was spaced out well between our birthdays and major holidays. We have our venue, my dress and photographer so far ☺️

We picked October because we wanted fall but not September because FH didn’t want to get married the same month as his parents (🤷🏽‍♀️) and I didn’t want to get married in November because that’s my birthday month and is always so hectic with thanksgiving and planning for Christmas.

So far we have our venue which is nearly all inclusive so we only needed to hire hair and make up and a florist (if we wanted real flowers) We meet with the venue in a couple weeks to start going over the details. We have the hair and make up team and did the trial for our engagement photos in early January. We also have our florist. We are sending out save the dates in a week or two (whenever we get them from the stationary store). My dress will be here in April. We just started buying the little personal details like cake cutting set, ring box, my shoes, bridal party/family gifts, etc. We have also arranged our hotel blocks.
So far it seems to be pretty stress free! I’m happy we picked a venue where most of everything was done through them!

I always wanted a fall wedding (I love fall colors and the weather) and also it’s our anniversary month already so why not 🤷🏻‍♀️ My FH’s sister is getting married in September so we decided to go with October 24th to space it out a bit.

So far we have everything done except ordering our wedding cake and purchasing decorations and invites and such. All our vendors are booked and my dress has been ordered, still have to pick out wedding party’s clothing but I am working on that right now.

It gave me over a year of planning plus I like the color scheme and I think it’s nice weather (hopefully).

I have cake tasting and food tasting this month. I have some decor left I need to buy... trying to get all the girls to buy their dress but two are procrastinators!! >_< I have an idea for my invites and guestbook. Really what’s left are the little details like accessories, alterations, timeline, logistics, song choice.
I have a lot done but I still have so much to do.
