October Brides... are you worried?

Valeria, on March 30, 2020 at 6:18 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 34
Hello all,

We are scheduled to get married on October 2nd of this year. With everything going on and the uncertainty of things, is anyone else worried things may be affected six months from now? We made our plan B, C and D list tonight.
Starting to get a little nervous as some states have stay at home orders now until June. We live in NY which is one of the hardest hit states.

Trying to stay positive but also be realistic at the same time.

I think it's completely understandable to be worried about it since it's uncertain what will happen. my bff is having her wedding in late sept and she's not worried. so i am hopeful too that by the fall, life will have returned to normal.

Same. My wedding is 12/6 so I know it’s a long time away and there is no reason to worry... but can’t say I have been 100% worry free.

I wouldn’t worry about it at this point.
I just had to make the dreaded decision of postponing my May 17th wedding to November 8th. It should be normal by then I am praying.

I am getting married in the middle of October, right now I am not worried per se but a little frustrated. Just trying to stay positive. We have to keep perspective after all, this thing is crazy and people are dying. SIGH. I'm in NY too so I understand. Anyway I'm feeling hopeful that things will look up by summer and in any case we plan to make a call by June and I have sketched out a lose back-up plan. Good Luck and stay strong ladies!!!

We're 10/9/20, and we're not worried at all. Thankfully we locked in most of our vendors last year. We're just making payments and coasting.

Hi Valeria! The general consensus seems to be that it's too early to panic, but also that a lot of people feel more personally relieved with a Plan B in place!

I've seen several October brides connecting in this discussion, you should definitely join the conversation: October Brides - How has COVID-19 affected your wedding planning?
