October All Inclusive Honeymoon?

Robyn, on February 5, 2018 at 11:50 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7
Hey all! My fiance and I are getting married on October 7 and want to go on an all inclusive beach honeymoon from the 8th to the 15th. Were originally thinking St. Lucia but I'm worried about weather and hurricane season...other options in our minds are Aruba and somewhere in Mexico. Any thoughts or experiences?!Smiley smile

    Same date twins! When I read the first part of this post, it sounded just like my situation! I would lean more towards Mexico if not St. Lucia. We actually chose St. Lucia and working with a travel agent for insurance, finding the right resorts, etc. it’s rainy season down there at that time, but I’ve heard it isn’t that much different than Florida summer storms.

    Haha, great minds think alike, congrats to you both!! 😊 We actually spoke with a travel agent today and she recommended st. Lucia as well, I'm just a worry wart and don't want to get stuck in rain the whole time, so it's good to hear that it's similar to Florida, that's manageable! We really love the culture of st. Lucia so that's what we've been leaning toward. What resorts did your agent recommend if you don't mind me asking?

    Not at all! We have never been to St. Lucia and wanted to be both lazy and also experience some culture and activities since we will be there for a week; we also were going for a more boutique-like resort. At first we were not going to do AI, but it seemed easier to do in the end. We also didn't have a particular place in mind, as long as it was within our budget ($4-6K). We were recommended the following:

    * Cap Maison (2nd favorite)
    * Hideaway Royalton (we liked it okay, but it was rather new and in the middle of a huge resort)
    * Marigot Bay
    * Anse Chastenet
    * Ti Kaye (which is what we are going with)

    With these places, we weren't getting the most expensive room either. As much as I would love to have a private pool with my room haha, that's not a priority for us. Ti Kaye seemed to be the best option because they have AI (more like a food plan but there's food available most of the day), it's small and private, and tours are set up through them as well; plus it fit within our budget.

    I caveat all that to say we have not been to St. Lucia or Ti Kaye before; I'm just going off of reviews from multiple websites and our travel agent's experiences (along with her colleagues). Smiley smile

    Thank you for this! We are looking to go to St. Lucia for our honeymoon the week of Thanksgiving (to limit the time we take off of work and avoid some of the rainy season). We have looked at Ti Kaye and are meeting with a travel agent soon. We want AI but are also not trying to break the bank.

    Not a problem! Smiley smile I've read a lot of reviews and the majority seem to give it 4-5 stars (or whatever the rating system is for a particular website). I've also looked on Instagram to see "real" pictures rather than just advertising photos (if that makes sense). Seems to be exactly what my FH and I are looking for!

    Good idea! I didn't even think of Instagram.
