nyc New York wedding vendors under $1,000. Do you know any?

Angelise, on February 26, 2022 at 8:45 PM Posted in New York Planning 2 4

I'm having my wedding this summer July 2022 in Queens. Looking for vendors! I'm still in need of a DJ/MC, Photographer, & Videographer. We're a young couple with a strict budget and looking to keep our vendors all under $1,000 each. Is it possible?

Browse eventective.com and look for vendors who don’t specialize in weddings. For catering, ask your favorite local restaurant to provide drop off catering. Get a cake and flowers from the local grocery store. Buy a GoPro set on a tripod to film everything.

Unfortunately you may not get discounts with the photographer and dj. But if you let them know what you need, they may work with you or know of vendors to refer you to. Facebook has budget groups.

Planning a wedding in NY on a budget is not easy but can be done. If you have venue ask them if they have any recommendations, they see vendors at all different price points.

I don't know if they are in your budget but I was at an event recently and the DJ was Good Times Production the host mentioned they are affordable and a pleasure to work with. Be careful with choosing a photographer I have had friends try to save money using a cheaper photographer and ended up really disappointed with the outcome. If I recall Jade FIlm Studios had some affordable packages but I have not personally used them. In your post you didn't mention still needing a florist, if you are looking for a flowers check out Costco and Stew Leonards they both do weddings. Good luck to you and happy planning!

I would consider getting friends together to create a Spotify music list, and using a GoPro or have friends send you videos. Not everyone uses a pro videographer. Then you can increase your budget for a quality photographer as many couples see their photos as the most impactful in remembering the day. Also, photographers may work 5-10hrs the wedding day, and weeks editing afterward, hence the higher cost. A friend advised me NY/ NJ vendors are roughly 5k each and he got married in NJ years ago (more bang for your buck, he said). I found in 2021, it was about the same. In 2022 inflation, 1k vendors may be difficult to find esp if they are self-sustaining independent artists. Best wishes.

1k vendors may be difficult to find. I suggest looking for up and coming vendors. Like people trying to expand their portfolio and what not. The prices will probably be lower. Hope you find what you are looking for!
