Put a new ring in right after removing the last one?

I checked my calendar not long ago and realized that I'm supposed to be on my period during our honeymoon in Aruba! So, I know I can use the Ring consecutively, but I'm just wondering if I'm going to get spotting or other side effects. Yikes.

Yeah, I've done it once or twice over the years. I don't remember having any issues with it.

It just makes you skip your cycle.. same as if they were pills.

    Thanks!

I know what it does. I've never tried it with the pill, but I have heard of people spotting or having some bleeding when they do. I'm glad to hear not everyone does, though I guess it would be the better option anyway! Smiley smile

I didn't do it because it was my first time using BC and spotting was inevitable....one lady said using the ring she spotted all the way through.

but now i have the issue the other way around....I took out the ring on sunday and my period still hasn't come yet.....the last three times it came the NEXT day....

This is scaring me a bit....does this sound familiar to you?

I wouldn't be worried about that...generally, when I take my ring out on Sunday, my period comes Wednesday morning. It's only come the next day once.

I tried doing that and spotted for 6 weeks a couple years ago Smiley sad

My doc said some people are just not meant to skip periods, I guess my body rejected it. Good luck!

If I was using the ring for a bit I would have done it and I don't think there would be any problems. You should do it....it's safe and there are no problems for most people.

It only makes you skip your cycle... since the pill gives you a "fake period" anyway... you'll be fine & shouldn't have any side effects!!

I did it once and NEVER AGAIN! yes i skipped the period but i started spotting after 2wks and it lasted for 2wks! my period with the ring is usually 3days.. so it was not worth it.

i think it varies with everyone. When i was on the pill before i got on the ring, i would do back to back packs for 3 months at a time and never spotted during it. but i tried doing that with the ring, and i was spotting!

We planned our honeymoon after my period is going to be over. I love my iTouch because it has a special app on there and you can go ahead and see when your period is going to be (and it works better if you're on birth control). I figured out my wedding day and when we were gunna go on our honeymoon. We are leaving for our honeymoon 2 and a half weeks after my period is over. =)

I have used nuva ring for a long time and all you have to do is keep the current one in until your ready to take it out instead of replacing it. I know that method works with regular BC but you can avoid your cycle by keeping it in. Works up to a month after with no spotting, cramping etc - i do it all the time lol.

I've done it often. Your ring can stay in for the three weeks and then you can immediately put a new one in. Do not keep one ring in for longer than 28 days.

My friend did it once and had a hrorible time leaving it in- she was bleeding heavily and had lots of clots- lots of problems when she left it in! if its far enough ahead of time I would try and change the week ahead of time

Like Mrs.Marissa I often do it too. If I have a special event and don't want to be worried about having my period I just leave it for the days needed and then take it off. I get my period right away and I don't spot nor does my period last longer than it's supposed to. I have been on the ring for over a year now and it works great for me.
