November Honeymoon Destination- Bali? Australia?

Kayla, on January 8, 2017 at 1:54 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 9

Hello all! Looking for unique and beautiful honeymoon destinations for November! We were originally thinking Bali and Gili Islands however a friend told me that November is rainy season. Smiley sad We then started researching Australia and there are so many beautiful places and it's so large that we have no clue where to start!

Here's a backstory- we are HUGE travelers and have been all over Europe, the Caribbean and South America. Knowing that we are big travel junkies, my fiancés mom surprised us with round trip tickets anywhere in the world for our honeymoon! So we definitely want to take advantage and go somewhere we may never get to go again.

Any favorite travel spots?

I absolutely have thought of New Zealand! But have no idea where to start, LOL. I also feel like if we're going all the way to the other side of the world we should go more than one place.

Totally! My friend just returned from a trip to both aus and nz. It was a three week trip though because things are spread out geographically. How long can you travel for?

We are blessed on being very flexible! I own my own company and FH is a Firefighter who can turn in his furlough or trades! Were hoping to travel between 2-4 weeks!

Australia and New Zealand are fantastic, what a great gift! Sydney, Ayers Rock (outback), Cairns (Great Barrier Reef) are great places in Australia. Auckland on the north island of New Zealand is nice for a couple of days. The south is where you find the more adventurous stuff. We didn't make it south, but friends have been there and loved it.

I went to AUS/NZ last spring and highly recommend it! If you go to NZ, base your trip out of Queenstown on the south island, you will be centrally located for a variety of tours and trips to Milford Sound and the glaciers. The south island is less developed than the north island. Plus Queenstown is BEAUTIFUL. Also Fergburger, so good. Keep in mind that in November it is still spring there, so may be a little chilly. Our trip to NZ was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience that I highly recommend.

If you want a balance of adventurous but also some warm weather, do the south island of NZ and maybe the Cairns/Great Barrier reef area, as it could be cool in Sydney and Melbourne in November. I looked into the Whitsundays and Hamilton Island, they look amazing.

Your friend is absolutely right about rainy season for Bali! You would not be a happy camper. With that said all the post above are great suggestions, however I would recommend a self drive through Australia, starting in Sydney, visiting Ayres Rock, etc and making your way to the Great Barrier Reef and staying on Hayman Island in the One and Only. I just finished customizing this itinerary for another couple a few days ago and for 10 nights including airfare from New York, (not sure of your gateway city) but the price was right at $9300 including the car, some meals, several excursions and travel insurance.

Hope that helps? This will be a hard decision for you! Smiley smile Blessings

I would look into New Zealand! A few years ago my family took 2 weeks and we just drove around the south island. It is gorgeous and there is soo much to see and do. There's a lovely resort town called Hamner Springs that I would highly recommend. There is a huge spa there where you can relax in the hot springs. I got a chocolate body wrap while my brothers embraced their daredevil side and went bungee jumping.

Absolutely can't go wrong with New Zealand.

I have never been to Australia but hear amazing things about it! New Zealand too. Take advantage and go somewhere far that you have never been to. I highly recommend it!! Good luck!
