Nontraditional Wedding Ideas

I guess it depends on the definition of traditional to say what’s non. 🙂 Our attire was pretty traditional, except that I only gave my bridesmaids a color and let them pick their own dress. That’s fairly common these days, though!

-We're planning to have our guests line up along our aisle for the processional instead of having them be at their seats
-We're skipping a lot of the traditional reception activities (first/parent dances, dance floor, cake cutting, bouquet/garter toss) and setting up yard games instead
- We're looking into doing a food truck (wood fired pizza) instead of traditional catering

I love that you all are doing your own thing and making sure that you all are the main focus.

The selection of jumpsuits is a great option. It really follows some modern fashion that tends to both follow the common trend of gowns but just a newer style. You could also choose a color or theme and let your bridesmaids select the style to match that.

That's good. It is almost a tradition that they not like the dresses selected, which is a good tradition to break. Hope the best for you.

We decided not to have a first dance or parent dances because my husband didn't want all that attention on him.

For our parent dances my fiancé will probably dance with my stepmom not my mom because she does not like attention.

Sure. Just saying if you did all the traditional parts of the reception, the focus would be more on you. But you got him to do the important part. That was good he participated in that part of the tradition.
