Non traditional uncle daughter dance

Kimberly, on February 11, 2023 at 10:16 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
My dad passed away two years ago and my uncle is walking me down the aisle. I would like to have a father daughter dance in memory of my dad . I don’t know what song for us to dance to? Any suggestions. I know my dad is smiling down on me but it’s still so tough.

Do you know what music your dad used to like? Maybe start there.

I'm so sorry for your loss - there's nothing like it.

I also lost my dad before my wedding, and my brother walked me down the aisle and danced with me. We danced to John Denver's "Sunshine On My Shoulders (Makes Me Happy)" because my dad got his nickname for me from it.

I would definitely start with music that was important to you an your dad together or songs that were important to your dad.

I’m thinking about asking my brother to dance with me to “wish you were here” by Pink Floyd, it was one of our dad’s favorite songs, but I’m worried it might be too sad. But I know how tough it is to do all of the wedding stuff (and life) without your dad there! My heart goes out to you ❤️
