No honeymoon because of Coronavirus??

I am from Florida and while everyone is on high alert really the outbreak has not hit the us as of right now. It would all depend on your honeymoon but truthfully you're better off taking a road trip rather than on an airplane because that's usually how these things become Global because it's circulating the same are over and over and over again. As of right now nothing in Florida has shut down and I imagine the same in California so you would be better taking a honeymoon soon Stateside rather than internationally.

I think that the virus can (and will) strike absolutely anywhere considering how mobile our society is. I wouldn't stop my plans or my life and worry about it (other than avoiding travel where there is a clear outbreak and risk).

As others said, it's so hard to predict what might, or might not happen. For now, I'd continue with plans, but with any reservations you are still making I'd try to book things that are refundable. California is a HUGE state geographically (more than half the length of the entire eastern coast) with a population of nearly 40 million people. lf Covid 19 shuts down significant parts of the CA, I'm guessing the same will be true across the US -- especially FL (similarly diverse & mobile populations, high-density cities, big tourist attractions, etc.). As a pp said, the good news of a road trip is your itinerary will have some flexibility and you can make choices that keep you out of dense crowds. Personally, unless you have a full-refund cancellation date coming up and you'll just feel less anxious leading up to the wedding if you cancel the trip, I'd wait to make any decisions. Good luck!

I wouldn't stop living my life over it. When is your honeymoon? You need to be informed, but this isn't a time to panic.

As long as you are normally healthy, I wouldn't be concerned. The media over hypes things. The coronavirus has been affecting humans since the 60's. I would be more concerned about the flu. That kills 600,000+ worldwide every year. The majority of the people dying from the current strain of the coronavirus have been immunocompromised to begin with. Wash your hands, don't lick the door knobs, stay in if you are sick...you know...common sense things and you should be fine.

I guess my reservations lie in the fact that we would have to be on a plane for 6+ hours each way, and also a lot of what we wanted to do was in high population density areas.

I live in California. So far, there are only a few confirmed cases of Coronavirus (now being called COVID-19). Those cases are being quarantined, and there are no unusual measures being taken at airports at this point. I agree with PPs that as long as you take normal, common sense precautions, you'll be fine. Wash your hands often (especially after getting off the plane). Unless you sit next to someone on the plane who has it (extremely unlikely), you shouldn't be affected.

My fiance and I have planned and paid in full for a flight to Florida and a cruise. Our cruise line is taking precautions. At this point, we would loose $1,800 to cancel because we are 16 days away from our honeymoon. We have decided we are not going to worry about it and we will have a good time!

We got married last night and decided to not do a honeymoon trip until after the whole coronavirus dies down. We are happy being with each other and rather protect our health.

I live in a major city in California. So far, life is very normal here. You should be fine if you are healthy. I think if you're road tripping, go to the parks and a little more remote places if you want to avoid crowds.
