nh wedding ideas.

Hi everyone! Does anyone know of some hidden gems in NH for wedding venues? We wanted a laid back reception with a fire for s’mores while people danced and played yard games. But every venue I have looked at cost upwards of 15,000 dollars! That is really not in our budget and I have become quite discouraged.

There are plenty of venues that don't cost nearly that much! I'm most familiar with southwest NH where we live. Monadnock Berries, Stone Garden, Cobb Hill Estates, Aldworth Manor, and Alyson's Orchard are all under $15,000 for just the venue. Mayfair Farm is awesome but a bit more expensive, probably around that price point or more, but that includes catering as well.

I've been to weddings at Cobb Hill and Alyson's, and we toured also toured Mayfair, Monadnock Berries, and Stone Garden for our own wedding. We landed on Mayfair because it was the best fit for us, and even though it was pricier, the added venue cost evened out when we calculated how much was included in the package. We had a smaller wedding (planned on about 80 people but ended up with 50), so keep in mind that larger weddings can add significantly to the price. If you want 200 guests the added costs of extra tents, porta potties, chair and linen rentals, etc might inflate your venue costs significantly, not just obvious per person costs like catering, invites, and wedding favors.

Our friends bought Monadnock Berries this year and they are doing amazing things with weddings there and have already made some upgrades since we toured three years ago. Stone Garden was also a brand new venue three years ago so I think they've made some improvements as well. Our experience with Mayfair was excellent - they had everything dialed when we toured in 2019, legally married in 2020, and then finally had our Covid-postponed wedding ceremony and celebration with friends and family last year. All three venues have ample outdoor space and can accommodate the games and firepit vibe!
