New Orleans Ceremony and Reception Venue(s) Selection

So excited that I’m in New Orleans today to review venues for our ceremony and reception planned for next year (May 2021). This is a destination wedding for us and unfortunately my fiancé couldn’t be here. He is working non-stop these days and so he will be on FaceTime. I have a checklist, but am wondering if anyone that is getting or has gotten married in New Orleans (or is from New Orleans) has any tips or places of interest for a ceremony and/or reception in mind. I do have a couple of appointments scheduled, but am still curious. Thanks!!

Hi Camisha! I'll be doing this for our May 2022 wedding just outside of NOLA in Slidell, so I'm excited to hear about your experience. I hope it goes great for you. Ours is also destination so I don't have much advice, but you might want to go taste test for catering. NOLA has awesome food and drinks! As for reception locations, everything is beautiful so you cannot go wrong. Just make sure the places you look at suit your vision. Best of luck!

Hi Amy,
I had a wonderful experience! We have been there many times, so I had a great time eating, of course! Lol. I went this past week because I had a supposed deadline to sign the contract for a certain venue. Also, I went in thinking, from pictures, that I was absolutely sure that it was “the one”! I only added the second venue last minute and for general comparison... turns out that I fell completely in love with the last minute addition and so it’s 99% likely that I will have it there! Go figure! So, my advice is to not select off of pictures and other’s opinions and go visit in person before deciding. There were so many small things that make a difference... at the end, we chose NOPSI Hotel! ❤️
