The guidelines just improved in my opinion. I’m moving forward with my April wedding. It’s already been rescheduled twice already.

I think they improved too! You can have up to 150 guests right? How many are you planning on having?

We have about 110 but what makes me happy is that they can serve food and alcohol past 10 pm now.

Around 90 which is 60% of our venue’s max capacity.

Guest amount wise, I’ll be fine. My max is 120 guests. However, feeling unsure of whether or not to postpone depending on everyone’s comfortability. Wedding date is May 1st. Booked pre covid. 🥴

Honestly, depending on if you want people to wear masks or not I think they would be a lot more comfortable. Have you talked to everyone? I have a destination wedding in July & most people I talk to are comfortable with a mask (I know not ideal but...) or the older people have had their covid vaccine already.

Some people have already had their first round of vaccines just not everyone yet. I think once everyone gets their second round, as long as it’s within this month or March, it’ll be ok.

I’m actually from New York but getting married in Jersey. Both states role outs are behind which is making me anxious. Some family is from NY, some NJ. I guess it depends on the role out for the older people. Most of the young people which is maybe 1/4 of the wedding guests are pretty comfortable. We are allowed to make a call in March so I’ll be reaching out to family in regards to how they’re feeling by the end of this month.

Mine is on March 27th in NJ. 2nd time moving it. Getting my second vaccine tomorrow. My husband’s family isn’t comfortable coming but his friends are. Most of my friends and family are vaccinated already.

My MIL has been getting upset/stressed about how nobody from their side is coming and they might not get a vaccine in time...they’re NY.But we can’t afford to move it- it’s been a 3 year “engagement”now - we got married on our original date. People have been having weddings at our venue.
Honestly only my family put money into our wedding, and if they’re okay with keeping it, we can’t be bothered if they aren’t going to help us pay to move it and the next available (Saturday) date would be in 2022...no thanks.

Completely agree with you. Venues are taking all necessary precautions. I also had to reschedule twice already. Original date 05.01.20, then 08.23.20. We are going through with 04.16.21.

I wouldn't start to freak out. Your wedding is still 8 months away. A lot will change by then.

My wedding is in 32 days. I'm not freaking out, but am keeping a close watch on the news/updates. It is what it is.

I've lost two venues at this point and if I lose a third one to guidelines, then I'm just not meant to have a wedding.

We'll see what we can recoup from our venue and move on. Will move on to buying a house, having kids, etc. Not going to stress out over this wedding any more. 2020 has stripped me of all the wedding excitement and can't wait to get it past me.

I think we have the same wedding date and I completely agree. We’re getting a lot of declines, but I need to move on with my life. And canceling is just an even bigger loss at this point/ contracts are tricky and I don’t want to screw over my vendors that accommodated all of my postponed dates.

Luckily I’ve had the same venue but I think we’ll have less than half of the people that said yes from our originally April 18th date.

Yes! I'm 3/27. We simply have to adjust and adapt and understand that all of this is out of our hands. My fiance and I are really lucky to have our health and our family members are all doing ok. At the end of the day, if planning a party is our biggest stressor, I'd say life is pretty good!

Maybe we cut our losses now and throw some insanely lavish baby shower in the future Smiley smile LOL
