Super August 2021

New date set ;(

So even after everything that is going on we were still having our DW in Cancun with about 30 guests.. Well, the resort decided to open in September instead and not August 1st as planned. 21 days left to go and we had to postpone;(!!!

I was feeling very down yesterday and we needed to make the decision to postpone instead. We could have had our wedding at the sister resort but it’s adults only and we have a few teenagers and 1 kid so that wasn’t going to work. Now I have to wait another year for this ;(! We are still getting legally married this year because that’s all that matter but I can’t help to feel down about the whole thing. Hopefully my dress still fits in a year lol. Or I still love it as much as I do now... how’s your wedding planning going ?

I would suggest not looking for different wedding dresses because then you may change your mind about your dress since it’s further out now. But like you said, you’ll still legally get married which is the important thing!

Wow, sorry to hear. Like you said, getting legally married is what matters.

    I feel for you...

I felt sad for a few days and definitely stressed as we’ve had to change plans. I think letting go of the expectation of How It Should’ve Been, and looking forward to How Things Can Be is helpful. The important thing is that you’re coming together and marrying your partner. It doesn’t mean it’s any less special because you can’t have the wedding you originally envisioned.

It’s tough facing postponement. But it’s all totally understandable these days, and ultimately I think you’ll feel better about the plan. The positive is that you’re still getting legally married on your date. As you mentioned, that’s what matters. We postponed everything to next October. I just preferred it to be “one and done”. Lol. Best wishes!

I just saw someone on here say they just came back from Mexico! Maybe there's some resorts open and some closed. You could always see if another resort has options if it's not too much of a hassle.

I feel you. We had to postpone ours at well. You'll be happier when you can have the wedding you want and not have restrictions and concerns.

I'm so sorry Wendy. That's such tough news to hear - especially so close to your wedding date!

I love that you're still going to get legally married this year as well! Just because you have to postpone the wedding party doesn't mean you need to postpone the marriage. Smiley heart
