NEED OPINIONS...Maldives, Thailand, Dubai, Bali, or Bora Bora???

Hello ladies! FH and I need some help deciding on a honeymoon location!!

We were originally planning on doing a Costa Rica honeymoon, but the itinerary we came up with was going to cost $9,000. Since we were hoping on a budget of more like $5,000-6,000, my parents suggested that we look into using my dad's Holiday Inn Club points that he accrues from traveling for work. Wow, I never realized the choices that we would have, or I would have looked into it to begin with!!

So basically we have narrowed it down to a few different resorts that had great reviews. The locations we are deciding between are:

Maldives

Dubai/Abu Dhabi

Thailand (Bangkok, Phi Phi Island, or Koh Samui)

Bali

Bora Bora

We would like to travel for 10-14 days, and would like a mixture of relaxation, adventure, and a bit of romance. Our budget for transportation, food, and activities is $****, since our accommodations would be free. We would be open to combining 2 locations or staying at 1.

    First u need to look up he rainy season for each location. Second in Dubia I don't think you can hold hand in public or kiss and since it your honeymoon...... My pick would be bora bora and bali.

    I'd go with Bora Bora, but I'm a bit biased since that's my dream vacay I hope to take with FH someday :-)

    I would do some research first, I know I looked into summer rates for bora bora a few weeks ago, and for a overwater bungalow it would cost about 5-6k per person. Bora Bora is also my dream vacay

    Dubai. I LOVED Dubai!!! It was like the Vegas of the Middle East. Amazingly friendly people, awesomely multi-cultural and awesome.

    My FH also wanted to go there (Bora Bora), and I looked into it and found it VERY expensive. Also, unless you want to lay on the beach, that's ALL there is to do there. Not many sights to see other than beaches and shopping.

    If you do Tahiti and Bora Bora, you may get a little more excitement there, it's more of a mainland.

    And I've heard good things about Thailand, but have never personally been there or looked into it.

    I went to Bali a couple years ago with some girlfriends and it was AWESOME! and fairly cheap if you don't get sucked in to shopping at every stall. We started out in Ubud and then spent the second half of the trip on one of the coasts… don't remember which beach, but it was where the 4 Seasons and the Sheraton were located. We stayed at the Pat Masse (which in Balinese means 4 seasons and it was spectacular) I realize you have a place to stay… but it was seriously awesome. I would go back to Bali again if the flight wasn't so long.

    My friends went on an extended vacay to thailand and would literally move there they loved it so much.

    Have you confirmed that these locations are within your budget? If so, I'd pick Bora Bora (also my dream vacay)

    Bali bali bali..a million times bali I've been to several of these locations, and I have to say the culture and beauty of Bali wins by a longshot

    We're doing bora bora as part of our honeymoon and I don't know why anyone would say there is nothing to do there. We are doing a honeymoon registry and have a glass bottom boat tour, jet skiiing, snorkling, whale watching, sunset cruises, moonlight horseback riding, and MORE to look forward to.

    I definitely say split the time between two places!! I would say Maldives (since some one stated Bora Bora is boring) that would be for the romance and honeymoon bliss part and then I would do Dubai (since some one stated it was like vegas) and there you have your adventure and fun stuff! Perfect rounded out honeymoon!

    You are so on the right track. I was looking at Thailand and then Maldives or Thailand and then bora bora so that it broke up the trip into 2 parts.
