Hello Smiley smile
My fiancé and I are having trouble deciding on a honeymoon spot. Does anyone have any recommendations for places to go to in the US during the summer (August)? Preferably destinations that offer a lot of different types of activities.

I’m from Hawai’i and but we’re currently based in California. We’ve both been up the Pacific North-West as well. Willing to fly and drive domestically. Thank you 😊

Do you want a city, or a theme park?

Keep in mind that a lot of places might still have some travel restrictions for a bit. Budget? Length of travel?

There are so many destinations on the East Coast - New York, Philly, Savannah...

We love Destin, FL. I think it’s the best of both worlds as far as relaxation and entertainment, and the beach itself just can’t be beat.

In the summer, I would recommend somewhere more northern - it'll be hot, but not as unbearably hot as the South.

I'd go to Maine! Not sure what the restrictions will be, but it would be an awesome trip.

Go to St. Croix! Or any of the other US Virgin Islands. As far away as you can get (except for Hawaii) while still being in the US. The Caribbean is beautiful, and there is surely and USVI that fits you and your fiancé’s travel style!

It depends on what you're looking for. Do you want to go somewhere warm or cooler? Are you looking for relaxation or are you more of the adventurous, need things to do kind of vacationers?

If you're into cooler weather, I'd highly recommend a trip to Alaska as it's absolutely beautiful. In the time you're looking, the weather is cooler but not freezing.

If you're looking for something completely different, the northern east coast offers a lot of beautiful areas along beaches that have tons of activities! Someone recommended Maine, and I would second that. Kennebunkport is nice, York Beach is nice, Ogunquit is nice. You could go even more north and visit Bar Harbor and other beautiful areas as well.

If you want something more adventurous, would you be into like a city trip? Maybe like Chicago or New York City? Those have a lot of hustle and bustle, so not really relaxing but definitely a lot of options!

I'd honestly stay away from the south over here on the east coast, because the humidity down there in August is CRAZY and I think it's unbearable honestly.

Key West! You get all the island type activities like Hawaii, but the vibe is completely different. There’s lots of bars and restaurants, which is often what it’s known for. But there is also a lot of history and culture that sets it apart from your typical beach town. It’s my favorite vacation place!

Congrats! I’m from the east coast originally and spent a few years living in Charleston, South Carolina. I always recommend it everyone! No shortage of great food, bars and a ton of activities (Covid permitting, of course l). Savanna GA is just a few hours’ drive from Charleston and could be a great spot to visit as well.
