Nashville mini-moon!

Mrs., on February 5, 2019 at 5:33 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 12

FH and I are toying with the idea of going to Nashville for our mini-moon. We've never been and we love country music, so what better place?!

For those of you who live, have lived, or have visited Nashville, what are some of your must see, must eat, must dos?! Throw in a fancy restaurant suggestion too!

I live here and don’t see the appeal, lol. I tend to stay as far away from downtown as possible. There’s so much traffic and construction is rediculous! But here are some ideas I can think of.
Try and get tickets to bluebird. Tickets go onsale the Monday before, I think, and sell out fast. But it’s a good time.
I’ve been dying to eat at Merchants on Broadway. I can’t say if it’s good but it looks
nice and has an old time charm to it.
Bar hopping is fun! Start at one, have a drink, then go to the next. During the week, weekends are too much for me.
Go check out Opryland hotel. Sit at the bar by the waterfall, get lost, shop, ride the river boat. Opryland is a must do!
since you love country music, do the Country Music Hall of Fame and check out the Ryman.
there are lots of tours, redneck comedy tour, grayhound hop on hop off, see the stars homes etc.
if you have time, take a short day trip to Lynchburg and see the Jack Daniels factory and check out the downtown. It’s so quaint!

As far as food... pancake factory is popular, I’ve never been there but be prepared to wait. Hattie Bs (or any hot chicken place), 5 points in east nashville supposedly has great pizza. The pharmacy, also east nashville, is great! Loveless cafe, great meat and 3 as is Monells. Something on the nicer side, we like Magiannos (Italian in west end) but it’s a chain and not nashville specific. Opryland has a nice steakhouse im dying to try.

Haha, thanks for the honesty!! That's how I feel about San Francisco and Los Angeles (California born and raised over here), especially downtown.

I'm loving all your suggestions! So glad you threw in a hot chicken place! We've got a Nashville hot chicken place in LA called Howlin' Rays that is super popular but I've never tried because... LA.

Is there any particular area that has your favorite bars?

I love the bar at the Loew’s in the West End. If you were a fan of the show “Nashville”, it will look familiar.

Like I said I try to stay away from downtown. But on the rare occasion we do go out, I do like Buffalo Billiards. It’s on 2nd, it’s upstairs above Dicks last resort. It’s more a sports bar, it’s quiter with no live music, at least there wasn’t in the past.
Now any of the places on broadway are great for honkey Tonkin.
    Tootsies
    Roberts Place
    Acme
    wannabe’s does karaoke.
Ole red is new and is owned by Blake Shelton
    Florida Georgia Line house
Kid Rock just opened one as well.
Rippys is good, I’ve gone for dinner.
Big Bang is a duling piano bar!

Just realized i read your question wrong.

You can try the Gulch, it’s a little more trendy
and easy Nashville is the new up and coming area.
im not familiar with anything in those areas.

I just checked you profile and it says you’re getting married the end of May. If you come
June 6-9 you get CMAfest. Even if you don’t get tickets to the main show, there is SO much going on those 4 days!!

Cassidy, you are the best!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your suggestions! I've literally been on the phone with FH for the past hour and a half researching CMAfest tickets, flights, and hotels centrally located to all your suggestions. We JUST booked our flights and the hotel! Nashville, here we come! Smiley smile

And congratulations to you on your recent marriage!! Will you be honeymooning (or have you already) and where?

(so many exclamation points. can you tell I'm excited haha)
