Nashville Bachelorette - Tornado?

McKenna, on June 9, 2020 at 12:16 PM Posted in Tennessee Planning 0 3

Hi everyone! My MOH and I are looking to do my bachelorette in Nashville. However, I heard many places were destroyed or are potentially are still impacted since the tornado hit a few months ago. Does anyone know if this is still true? Want to make sure we have things to do! Thanks for the help!

The tornado hit 3 months ago, not a year or two, and yes there are areas still greatly impacted by it.

Thank you. Do you know which areas have been most impacted by chance?

I have not been downtown since the tornado, but I believe that area was not affected, Broadway and 2nd ave. East And North Nashville had extensive damage. As did East of town going toward Knoxville. While the area may have been cleaned that doesn’t mean that business are rebuilt let alone up and running. The daycare I worked at last summer is still a pile of rubble, but the grocery story I shop at has reopened but it wasn’t hit nearly as bad. So it’s just going to depend. We just drove past a school today that is still caved in and isn’t close to being repaired.
I know some bars have opened back up from Covid, but not sure if they all have or what the current restrictions are concerning live music, crowds, sitting at the bar etc.
I do know that there was also some damage to buildings due to the protests last week. All of this on top of our city being almost completely a job site with all the construction going on. Nashville can be a fun place. I’m not sure that it is going to meet your expectations at this time. Obviously depending on when you plan on coming. The situation could improve greatly if your plan is to come in a year or so.
