Napa venue fires :(

I'm so sorry to hear about your beautiful venue. Your wedding photos are simply stunning! So many are going through so much, but we will all perservere by the grace of God. Prayers for all who are suffering.

I very nearly booked my Napa honeymoon there. I had also considered Meadowood too, but at $1500/night, I decided both places were a bit much, especially since not everything at either resort is fully open. We're staying in Yountville instead.

Instead, we had booked/paid for a dinner reservation at Meadowood. It's a 3 Michelin star restaurant--what a wonderful way to kick off a honeymoon, right? Nah, it burned down too.

I'd be sad, but 2020 has kicked my ass so much, I'm practically numb to the pain. I'm honestly half expecting my Yountville resort to burn down too, or have an earthquake strike SF on my wedding this weekend.

Omg, can you still have your wedding on Oct 3rd in the area with all the fires? Be careful. My heart aches for you. I totally understand your numbness.

I totally understand. I’m a born, raised and never leaving Cali girl. So, of course, I feel like we have the best state for a number of reasons, one being our wonderful, warm and sunny weather. However, it’s also a catch 22 because of fire season. Some years it’s worse than others and this happens to be one of them. It’s been very warm recently but the air quality is a mess. I feel sad when weeks go by where you look outside and see that “fire season sky” or wake up smelling smoke. The damage is so heartbreaking 💔

I'm sorry to hear about your venue, at least you will always have precious memories. The fires here have been extra crazy this year. I am very close to Napa as a crow flys and am very thankful the fire is moving in the opposite direction, but it is so sad to see all of this devastation.

Very sad to see this, and I very much understand as well. I'm in northern CA in Sacramento, and we are surrounded by the fires and smoke. The bad air quality has been lasting for a long time up here. I get married in 10 days, and I'm constantly checking for updates about the fires. We 2020 brides just cannot catch a break. I'm very saddened by all the destruction it's caused and my heart goes out to everyone during these terrible times.

Yeah my wedding itself should be ok from the fires, as it's in downtown SF. I just don't know how the honeymoon will turn out We do have a dinner reservation at French Laundry so hopefully they can actually stay open.
