Name Change in nyc

Just wondering if anyone has changed their name in NYC in times of COVID. I'm not sure if I should be mailing my documents to the Card Center on 123 William Street or Social Security office on 237 W 48th St. I've been caught in a never ending loop when I try to call in to ask. Thanks for any help!

    Hi Jennifer! I'm not 100% certain, but it looks like you can go through the Card Center!

    Online it says the following:

    "You must visit a Card Center if:
    1. You need a Social Security Card
    2. Your personal information needs to be updated
    3. Your employer asked you to visit a Social Security office

    For other services, please visit a servicing office."


    Number 1 and 2 both sound like the apply to the name change process!

    That's what I ultimately settled on and sent my information to the card center!
