My original wedding date is coming up :(

FutureMrs.C, on May 14, 2020 at 12:14 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11

Hi all - my original wedding date (May 16th) is coming up this weekend and I am much sadder about it than I thought I would be. Today was supposed to be my rehearsal dinner! I just wanted to share my feelings and hear from other May brides. What are you doing/have you done to celebrate your original date? We are getting takeout from the restaurant we are getting married at, wear our wedding bands, and dance to our song.

Would love to hear from you! My heart goes out to all of youSmiley heart Smiley heart

Our wedding was supposed to be April 24, 2020. I too felt sad that actual day. We celebrated the special day with ordering take out from our favorite italian restaurant. We dressed up real nice had candles on the kitchen table with wine & beer. We later watched a movie & called it a night. It was nice but my heart was still a little hurt for not having our wedding.
I didnt have much of a difficult time until that day.

Our wedding would’ve been last weekend (May 9) and we spent the day together, took a photo for our friends and family, and just had a nice relaxing day. We are excited for our new wedding date in October, and decided to not let the fact that we had to reschedule get us down! We’ve been together too long and already feel married!

I was very quiet and moody on our original date (4/26/2020). And lately I’m up and down. I told myself I would wing it that day, and only do what I felt like doing. I had a couple people suggest things to do and I kept saying I will only do whatever I feel like that day. My fiancé and I went to Lowe’s and bought some plants and worked in the garden, and I think we also got takeout? Hugs to you it’s not easy

I am very sorry, brides 😞 I am also starting to grow doubt about my 23rd of July wedding. Even though it is a private wedding, it is a destination wedding and we are set with the date. I want a tropical beach wedding and have a honeymoon right after, yeah... I am picky on that. I waited 24 years for this date 😔

I'm glad that you didn't put the extra pressure of planning something extra. Winging it sounds like a good way to go, although I am sure it was still hard. Our new wedding dates are going to be awesome, I just know it!!

Aw, Belle...That's heartbreaking and I truly feel for you. Are there any alternative plans in the process? For all we know at this point, it might still be possible to stick to 7/23

We did a zoom call with our bridal party on our would-be wedding day, May 9th. It actually was great. We all had drinks and stayed on the call for 2 1/2 hours. Then we actually danced to our first dance song, in our living room, which was sweet because my fiancé is NOT a romantic. I was sad, but it made me feel better to loop other people in and it lifted my spirits!
